Minimalism Wines

Minimalism Wines human scale - regenerative & sustainable - minimal intervention - soulful wines with a pulse This little piece of the pie is where we find our self in.

Passionate about wine made with integrity, we decided to take the plunge down the rabbit hole and share pieces of our favourite regions, varietals, and winemakers with British Columbians. Whether we've met the producer first-hand and thoroughly vetted them or done extensive research before approaching anyone, our goal at Minimalism Wines is to always provide you with wines of the highest quality a

nd drinkability, no corners cut. After years of working with local wineries, wine shops, and distributors both small and large, we came to learn there was a large gap in a category that deserved to be filled with so much more than giant conglomerates and soulless, volume pushing brands. Though this gap still persists, there is a growing demand for wines that are environmentally conscious, that tell a story of their grower and maker, and that express their varietal through clarity and purity. Welcome to Minimalism Wines, where we import and distribute wines that are undressed, and reflective of their grower, maker, terroir, and varietal.

It's raining RED! From light on its feet to deep, dark, and soul-warming đŸ·

The red wines currently available in my portfolio span the globe — Australia, Austria, right here in BC, Chile, the Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lebanon, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, and the US — and they cover ALL the moods.

Think juicy, crunchy, chillable reds with bright fruit and energy
all the way to fuller-bodied, structured wines made for cold nights, slow cooking, and plates that need something with a little weight behind it. Weeknight pasta, long braises, dinner parties, quiet nights in — there’s a red here that fits.

Lots of styles, lots of stories, and plenty of bottles ready to satisfy any appetite or taste... 66 different reds to be exact!

From Okanagan Falls, Synchromesh continues to carve out some of BC’s most compelling expressions of Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Cab Franc—grown quite literally along fault lines. The Storm Haven estate spans 107 acres between 1,300 and 2,000 feet, with multiple aspects and finely tuned micro-blocks. Soils shift dramatically across the site: sandy loam over gravel and decomposed granite, mixed clay-loam with rock debris, and striking quartz and slate intrusions tracing the Okanagan Fault Line. Drainage is fast, vines are naturally stressed, and each block speaks clearly through its own acid profile, texture, and mineral character.

Farming is meticulous and low-yielding, with blocks managed individually and a portion of the estate preserved as natural wildlife habitat. In the cellar, fermentations are native, additives are avoided, and wines are bottled with minimal fining and filtration—letting site do the talking. You’ll see it clearly in the glass: quartz-driven blocks bring electric acidity and flinty lift; clay-loam delivers mid-palate texture; gravel and granite add mineral cut and tension.

The 2025 Riesling is all energy and precision—bright citrus, lemon zest, and crab apple aromatics, with candied lemon and green mango on the palate, finishing just *barely* off-dry. A vibrant, crowd-pleasing style that holds serious structure. This entry-level stunner marks the culmination of 15 years working with 21B Riesling across multiple Okanagan Valley terroirs—Naramata, Okanagan Falls and Oliver. After several vintages of reduced yields, availability is finally strong again. Lock it in while you can đŸŒ±

Introducing Okeanós — A Salish Sea Experiment by

Okeanós began as a question rather than a plan: if we’re trying to make wines that feel true to where they come from, how could we ignore the sea that surrounds us?

Long before modern winemaking relied on sulphur, ancient cultures turned to seawater as a natural preservative. Inspired by that history, the folks at Averill Creek wondered what might happen if they explored this idea on Vancouver Island. So they did something simple, and slightly strange. Pinot Noir and GewĂŒrztraminer were briefly soaked in water from the Salish Sea before fermentation. No additions. No corrections. Just curiosity, and a willingness to see where it led. What emerged surprised them.

Okeanós carries the freshness and elegance typically associated with Averill Creek's wines, but with an added layer of texture and gentle salinity. A wine that feels both grounded and fluid, familiar and a little untamed. It doesn’t fit neatly into a category, and we all like it that way.

Named for the Greek personification of the ocean, Okeanós is a reminder that wine has always been shaped by movement, risk, and connection. This bottle is our way of holding space for all of that
and inviting you into the experiment.
