🎶 Wine Wednesday Live Music at 40 Knots 🍷

We’re thrilled to welcome The James Vickers Band to the vineyard for an unforgettable Wine Wednesday performance.

Formed in July 2023, this rising West Coast blues and roots group has quickly made waves across Canada’s live music scene, known for their high-energy shows, tight musicianship, and powerful original songwriting. Their sound is raw, polished, and built for the stage—blending modern blues grit with roots-driven soul.

At the centre is frontman James Vickers, a young Indigenous artist (Gitxaala, Heiltsuk, Haida, and British ancestry), vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter who began performing at just 11 years old. Despite his age, he has already represented the Fraser Valley Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and has shared stages with some of Canada’s most respected musicians.

Their debut EP The James Vickers Band introduced their signature sound in 2024, followed by their full-length album Last Goodbye in 2025, featuring tracks that have earned international radio airplay and growing recognition far beyond BC.

Rounding out the lineup is a powerhouse group of musicians:

Carson Maertz (guitar)
Sara Varro (drums)
Rick Becker (bass)

Together, they deliver a dynamic, groove-heavy live show that’s been captivating audiences across Vancouver Island and beyond.
