It is time for school shopping, and this decade is as unique as the ones before it. When you have completed your annual tradition of following the kids around the mall, rolling your eyes, yet pulling out your wallet, 40 Knots will be there for you.

2026: Mom, I need a new laptop, noise-cancelling headphones, a $60 water bottle and a backpack that has a USB port. I want to wear baggy jeans, sneakers and an oversized top.

2016: Mom, I need a trendy backpack, smartphone and headphones. I want to wear skinny jeans, leggings, a bomber jacket and sneakers.

2006: Mom, I need a USB flash drive, iPod and calculator. I want to wear low-rise jeans, a hoodie, graphic T-shirt and cargo pants.
