Downey-Roberge Plantations is a family-owned Christmas tree farm located in Cookshire-Eaton, Quebec.

We have been growing, cultivating, and delivering Christmas trees all over North America for more than 50 years.

What you see on the roots of these transplants is not ice! It's actually called root gel. We put the gel in some water, mix, and when transplants are freshly pulled, we dip the roots in the solution. This creates immediate hydration and a long-lasting effect that helps the trees survive the stress of transplanting.

This small step makes a big difference in the in the quality of the Christmas trees that grow in your fields! 🌲

Harvest has started and it's time to work in our Nursery. Here is what our Balsam bareroot transplants 2-2 size looks like.

2-2 means 2 years in a nursery and 2 years in a transplant bed. More tree spacing allows more root growth and higher nutrient availability.
