I have had a lot of people wanting to learn a little bit more about us and I'm still learning Facebook so bare with me.
Small family farm and bee operation west of Ottawa in Corkery between Carp and Almonte. Love bugs, bees aren't the only insects have, my awesome wife lets me keep the worms in the house over the winter. Bees have to stay in the barn tho🙂
Love honey but I don't know how people keep up with the work load + life + family. Definitely side liner size of operation, I have a day job (high tech) and 2 young kids. Primarily focused on breeding hygienic bees and this years focus will be introducing VSH selective breeding to our program over the summer. Love science, building, reading and thinking out side the box. Looking forward to working with OBBA.
Over winter indoors dark, un heated because I like the slowing of brood production and control it gives you but still want cold exposure. That and its easier to move pallets in the barn with the tractor vs wrapping hives. Would like to try experimenting with controlled CO2 levels and honey consumption over winter but still have some planning / tech work to get the data I want with that project
High energy, talk a lot, but work in tech so I type a lot to 🙂
Look forward to working with and playing with bees with you all!
