Our friends at Gathering the seasons are putting on another food festival celebration♥️🍎

Apple festival 2026🍏

This is a great time of year to celebrate the Apple tree and her bounty. Join us Sunday October 18th at the Steady Brook Community Center from 2-7pm.

Learn how to harvest apples from the trees, the different variety’s, try our hands on apple pressing and make your own apple juice/ c***r to take home, there will be crafts and burlap sac races, live music from guest artists and a pig roast with food for everyone ♥️🍏
*This event is a pay what you can by donation. Gathering the seasons is a non profit organization centred around community, learning and food*

Hello friends
We wanted to share an awesome festival happening October 18th
🍎♥️ Apple Festival ♥️🍎

This is going to be one sweet festival you don’t want to miss. We will have Apple Tree teachings, Apple pressing for making c***r, crafts, hot fresh food and live music with guest artists.

This event is a pay what you can by donation and all are welcome. So come for the music, the food or for the love of the Apple tree♥️

They are also seeking volunteers and anyone willing to donate apples to an awesome day!

Volunteers needed🍎🚨

We are seeking volunteers to help us for Apple fest this year.
Here is what we need help with:

#1. Do you have an Apple tree with apples you are not planning on using and would be willing to donate to Apple festival?
If so please let us know by Saturday October 10♥️

#2. Apple Pickers, we need 10-15 people with ladders & picking tools, to help pick apples for the festival. We will have Apple pressing happening all day and many other Apple activities and need lots of apples 🥰

#3. Kitchen help, we need 5 people to help out in the kitchen. This will take place on Friday October 16th from 1-6pm.

It is our goal as a non profit organization centred around community, food knowledge, learning and connection that we make our festivals as inclusive and community centred as possible♥️

If you would like to volunteer please reach out to Gathering the seasons by messaging us or text Rachel at 709-732-2000 with your name, phone number and what you would like to help with by Saturday October 10th.

Thursday Honesty Market Re-stock

Ohhhh friends how the weather has changed!! Much of our crop is dying back, therefore sadly the honesty market will be stocked less frequently,
Stay up to date with restock days either here or on Facebook, it’s not over yet!

As the days get shorter and our growing season comes to a slow end we can’t thank you ALL enough for the love, support & honesty we have experienced since opening our stand up. Thank you🤎🍂

Fennel 💚

Not commonly known here on the island, making its flavour one to discover.
Fennel is in the carrot family, pretty much every part of this plant can be eaten, it can be roasted, braised, dehydrated, pickled and used for herbs or tea.
Its flavour is sweet, liquorice (anise), slightly salty and crisp.

This is a medicinal plant as well, the seeds and fronds can be used as tea to support the digestive system, menstrual cycle, reduce inflammation, cleanse the blood and even freshen your breath!

It’s a new one for us to grow and we have loved working with its flavour, texture and diversity.

If you’re curious about sweet & sour pickled fennel find us this Saturday from 10-4pm at the civic center. We will have many other classic pickles, teas, preserves and more 💚

Honesty market restock

We have restocked before heading to roots rants and roars this weekend.

Cucumbers (last of the season!!!)

Up coming fall markets 🍂

We are excited to announce we will be participating in some fall markets this year 🧡Roots, Rants and Roars Sept 18-19 in Elliston, NL
💛 30-six Productions Sept 26 from 10-4 Corner Brook.
🤎 Mushroom Foray NL October 2-4
♥️Our honesty market will take a small break while we attend these markets.

We will be restocking on the following days:
Wednesday Sept 16th, Tuesday Sept 22 & Thursday Sept 24, Tuesday Sept 29.
Be on the look out in October for our pumpkin stand 🎃

Happy weekend folks, the stand has been restocked 💞

Mushrooms (lobster & hedgehog)

Preserves (relish, spicy garlic scapes, sour cherry jam, blueberry jam, garlic powders)

📍 located just before Hughes Brook, look for the floral mural🌼

You might notice we have no cucumbers, beans, zucchini and tomatoes… some of these items are slowing down as the cooler weather moves in, but not to worry we have other produce that thrives in cooler weather 🎃
