Our Island Taste Trail fun pairing picks for today for Courtenay are:

Flying Canoe - Try their Prawn and Pea Risotto featuring seared BC trout, paired with Phillips Brewing & Malting Co. Solaris Summer Ale.

Yiamas Greek Taverna - Traditional Greek flavours with a local twist! Try their Chicken Gyro Plate - roasted chicken, tzatziki, tomatoes, red onion and fries wrapped in a thin pita bread - paired with Ace Brewing Company Jet Fuel IPA.

Because great food doesn’t need a fork — just good company... Head over to some of these great stops on the Island Taste Trail for a sandwich or other finger licking bites in Parksville Qualicum Beach.

At DEEZ Bar & Grill you can dig into crispy house-brined chicken wings, served with crudités. Served with your choice of sauce: bbq, salt & pepper, lemon pepper, Franks buffalo, honey garlic, blue moon or honey hot. Perfectly paired with an ice-cold Moments Craft Lager.

At Extreme Eatz Bar & Grill , we think you should try their Brisket Dip with Mount Arrowsmith Blonde Ale. This is the decadence of AAA beef brisket with melted cheddar, caramelized onions and horseradish aioli on a pretzel bun, dipped in au jus sauce!

At Village Eatery & Pizza House, check out their epic Bacon & Egger Breakfast Sandwich — two fried eggs with melted cheddar, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, tomato, and their signature Extreme Eatery sauce! Served with house-made hashbrowns!
