Here is how you can help a small business:

Most people want to support small businesses but don’t always know how.

A great place to start is by liking posts, commenting, sharing, and leaving a recommendation.

This graphic shows how to leave a recommendation on our page.

It helps keep our content visible in the algorithms, helps more people find us, and lets others know that we are a reputable local business.

If you have ever taken a workshop, joined a plant walk, visited the farm stand and purchased plants, tea or jams & jellies from Natural Garden Grows and would like to leave a Facebook recommendation, it would be greatly appreciated. 🌿

Thank you for helping this little garden grow. ☺️

I was passing by my blackberry bushes and I have always loved when the blackberries are in bloom, and the bees are swarming all over, however, I don’t think I ever truly noticed how gorgeous the centre of this flower is. It is like a Starburst or a beautiful kaleidoscope. Nature is absolutely breathtaking! Everything is just as it should be. And I love that after all these years I am still noticing its beauty. May I never stop noticing the beauty of nature! I hope that you will pause sometime today and notice something beautiful growing around you. Really notice it - look closely and connect with the beautiful plants growing around you. It is absolutely work of Art!

Today was Part 2 of our Little Wonders mentorship program at Cottonwood Rose School — the “Foraged Feast Salad Bar” — and my heart is so full after today’s session. 🌿

Last week, the children learned about four edible plants growing right in their schoolyard. They worked as plant detectives, using clues to identify the plants and add them to their little plant journals.

Today, they got to experience those same plants in a completely different way… by eating them.

The children moved through the salad bar building bowls filled with greens, edible flowers, and wild plants they had learned about the week before that Grow All Around them in their school grounds. Then they created & mixed their own herbal salad dressings and sat together enjoying their salads and rosewater drinks.

One little girl sat there with rose petals and leaves sticking out of her mouth and said:
“This is the best salad I’ve ever tasted!”

The other children immediately chimed in in agreement — all nodding with full mouths while asking for the salad dressing recipe. 😄

Later, while I was cleaning up, one little girl came back inside and said:
“We were just outside eating the rose petals off the bush!” 😆

And as I was leaving, one of the boys asked:
“Are you coming back next year?”

I told him I hoped so.

“Me too,” he said. “Bring cookies!”

(He was remembering the Grand Fir shortbread cookies from the Evergreen Forest Walk workshop I did with them back in December. 🌲)

These are the moments that remind me why I do this. Sometimes all it takes is one meaningful experience with a plant to plant a seed of curiosity, connection, and wonder that lasts for years to come. 🌱
