Ethical, healthful agriculture in the Comox Valley
Tannadice Farms has established a method of farming that is ethical, sustainable and healthful. We take great care of our animals because we know that the way your food is produced has a profound effect on its nutritional value. Healthy animals produce healthy meat.
• We never feed our animals growth hormones or animal by-products, and we use antibiotics only when necessary to prevent a sick animal from suffering.
• Our Angus cattle are allowed to graze naturally, and their diet is supplemented by nutrient-rich corn silage. The result is flavourful, marbled meat that's high in conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) - powerful antioxidants that have been shown to fight cancer and even reduce body fat in humans.
• Our certified "High Health" pigs live their entire lives without being exposed to most common porcine diseases. Their "High Health" status is maintained through meticulous cleaning of their barns and regular veterinary check-ups. You'd be hard-pressed to find a healthier herd of pigs! Tannadice Farms is proud to be a part of the Comox Valley's agricultural community and encourages you to support your local farmers whenever possible.
