Farmer Dave's Meats Welcome to our rebranded Lentelus Farms page. Farmer Dave’s is our new regeneratively raised, grass-fed and finished meat sales page! Ethical. Sustainable.

Natural. Lentelus farms was established in 2015 by Dave Semmelink. At the time, Dave was completing a practicum program in Sustainable Agriculture and a BSc in Conservation Management Sciences at University of British Columbia. During the practicum, he toured the Comox Valley and was inspired to start his farm in the area by the engaged food community and excellent farming conditions. Lentelus means “joy for spring” in Afrikaans, it’s a nod to Dave’s late grandfather, a philosopher, writer and farmer in the Western Cape, South Africa. Lentelus was shaped by a rich family history of regenerative and agroecological farming. Dave continues this philosophy of sustainable agriculture on his leased farm properties, raising the lowest carbon and ecological footprint livestock possible. Lentelus farms aims to produce meat that is healthy, delicious and sustainable.

Grass-Fed Lamb
Our lambs are rotationally grazed on the lush pastures of our Kelowna farm using regenerative farming practices that promote healthy soils, thriving pastures, and exceptional animal welfare. They enjoy a grass-fed diet throughout their lives, with a small amount of peas and lentils offered each evening to encourage them back to their secure overnight barn, where they're protected from predators.

Lambs have an average hanging weight of approximately 50 lbs. Priced at $14.00 per pound based on hanging weight, this includes slaughter, custom cutting, vacuum packaging, and wrapping—there are no additional processing fees.

The deposit of $200 goes towards your final payment and helps us pay for our costs while raising the lamb.

Farmer Dave’s Meats has taken over the Jura Grassfed lambs, meaning the same grass-fed lambs, raised with the same care and treatment, are now being processed and delivered through Farmer Dave’s.

Whole Lamb orders are 20% OFF until October 31 while supplies last.

These are the lambs many of you already know and love: pasture-raised, thoughtfully cared for, and full of the flavour that comes from animals raised slowly on good grass.

If Jura lamb has been a favourite in your freezer, this is a good opportunity to stock up for the year ahead.
