Good news. Seasonal agricultural workers, fish/seafood workers, caregivers and all other temporary foreign workers are exempt from air travel restrictions.

Expect more details to follow but here is the latest from the Federal government on Seasonal Agriculture Workers and protecting our food supply.

Following strict quarantine protocols, our farmers will be able to welcome foreign workers —they are a very important part of our farm, fish and food sector.

Good Morning,
Are you concerned about the Seasonal Agricultural Worker program and the impact delays could have on your farm business? Here's a post from the BC Minister of Agriculture
about the program. Stay well!

Good morning,
My Ministry staff and I have been making calls continuously to our agriculture, food and fish stakeholders around the Province. We will continue to call to check-in, and to hear your stories and your worries.
We have heard from many of you that the delay in our Seasonal Agricultural Workers arriving in BC could be devastating. From speaking with my colleagues across the Country I know we all share similar worries. We are continuing to communicate on this specifically with our Federal Government and I will update you wiith any information as I get it.
In the meantime, if you are a farmer, a food processor, a fisher or anyone involved in our food system please reach out to us. Please email my office at [email protected]
We are doing our best to reach you, but in case we don’t, please reach out to us.
I know this is a very trying time and we are here for you.
We are all in this together.
Lana
