The rain held off for us yesterday and what a beautiful market day it was! It was wonderful seeing you all and I even got a hug! Steve joined me in Cranbrook and our kids did a great job here at the Creston Market.
Our lovely CSA Bouquet Subscribers in Cranbrook picked up their flowers.
It was a fantastic day! Thank you for making market day special. Without supporters of local makers and growers, Farmers Markets just wouldn’t exist.

We sold the last of the tulips this weekend.
These sweet deep Queen of Nights carried the bouquets through this spring while some others had a troublesome time growing.
Tulip season didn’t go as planned this year. The weather fluctuations caused most of the tulips not to develop properly, resulting in a 90% loss of our outdoor tulips. Our polytunnel has been a fantastic investment, which produced the bulk of the tulips sold this season.

Farming is an interesting path. I can do everything right on my end but the farmer is only part of the equation. Our season has just started and with such a loss it’s easy to despair but with so many more beautiful flowers to look forward to I’m hopeful for a bountiful season ahead.

What do we always say? “Next year will be better” 😉

So if you were able to have tulips from our farm this year, know that each one was picked with a grateful heart.

I can’t do it all.
There were days I thought I could and maybe I did. Raising and homeschooling three kids the way I did took a certain willingness, creativity and steadfastness. The books we read, the from scratch meals and a young Mom who spent many nights praying for guidance and a soft heart.
My youngest two have been a great help to me lately helping where they can and doing their best with a smile at our local farmers market while Mom probably thinking she can do it all still, is off hustling at another.
Friends, children do grow up too fast. The teenage years can be fast and furious much like the diaper years, but they’re precious just the same. I only have a few more years left of them. The fact all my kids want to spend time with us is priceless. You can’t buy that. I’m grateful for the many years ahead to continue being their Mom.
So if you read this and happen to buy flowers from these two you’ll have a small glimpse into my world. These kids aren’t spending their Saturday working for a stranger, they’re there because they want to be there for me, and not because they have to. They’ve seen and experienced what I’ve poured into them and I’m so grateful for their heart to WANT to be there for their Mom. Their kindness and service means more to me than words on a card.
To the young Mothers, especially the homeschool Moms out there, your sacrifice and positive posture will be gifted back to you. I’m 3 for 3. 💗🌷
