We were delighted to support the Les Dames d'Escoffier - BC Chapter fundraising event at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo.

🚛🐝 May 15: Emergency Bee Rescue
We came to the rescue of Saskatchewan beekeepers when their truck transporting 400 bee colonies broke down in Creston.

🎙️May 20: CBC Radio West Kelowna Interview
Jeff joined Sarah Penton CBC Radio to discuss the vital role of honeybees and other bee pollinators.

✨🐝 We’re more than honey!
On World Bee Day, Jeff came to the rescue again — but this time at our friends’ farm, Cartwheel Farms (the folks who supply the ginger for our ginger infused honey).

A swarm of bees had settled high in one of their trees on the farm and Jeff went to all heights (literally!😅) to remove the bees, safely transport them, rehouse them in new hives, and settle them into one of our bee yards. Both Jeff and the bees are doing well! Phew 😮‍💨

Did you know that we provide a variety of other services for our community and industry in addition to swarm removal?

🐝 BEES & PACKAGES
We supply nucleus colonies which include a marked laying Queen, 2 to 3 frames of brood, and frames of honey/pollen. That’s what we’re doing this weekend!

👑 QUEENS
We supply high-quality, well-bred Queens for other beekeepers.

🍒🌸 POLLINATION
We supply pollination services to cherry and apple orchardists, and small-lot berry, fruit, and vegetable growers in the Creston Valley.

📚🐝 BEEKEEPING CLASSES
Jeff and I are BC Honey Producers’ Association certified instructors and teach classes at our farm every spring.

🏆🍯 HONEY JUDGES
Jeff and I are BC Honey Producers’ Association certified honey judges and participate in honey contests.

We continue to bee amazed by the strength, productivity and resilience of the honey bee. And that’s why Jeff and I work hard to protect our bees, and respect the pure natural goodness of the raw local honey they produce.

👑From Curlers to Queen Bees

I recently received some cherished photos from my Mum, ones she found tucked away in my Dad's old wallet. Remember when wallets had those tiny photo albums? 📸

I discovered a picture of my Mum that I've never seen before and a hilarious shot of me with curlers in my hair! 😂 Apparently, I was about 3 years old and insisted on having my hair styled just like hers. With the little hair I had, she made it work! You have to see this one ➡

My Mum truly is the heart of our family, our very own Queen Bee. 👑 Always there with unwavering support. Happy Mother’s Day Mum! 💖

🐦🐝It’s all about the birds and the bees this weekend!

Get ready to spread your wings and join us at the annual Creston Valley BIRD FEST to celebrate our feathered friends and the vital wetlands they call home during their annual migration north. 🌿

Jeff and I LOVE this community event and are proud to sponsor and participate. We’re hosting tours on our farm including an observation hive where you can get up close to the bees, sample some honey 🍯, and learn about the life of honey bees.

For those who want an added adventure, there is a visit to the bee yard, too! 🐝 Bee suits are available on site.

Good morning Creston! Tastings at the market today!!! I’m so incredibly excited to have samples of our newest infusions - Jeff’s favourite Italian plum tree helped make this amazing (if I do say so myself) plum infusion, raspberry infusion and back by popular demand seabuckthorn. This Seabuckthorn Berry was from one of the yards we have our bees on. Thanks to Pierre and Akemi Matsumiya!
