Honey Bee Zen Apiaries Ltd, the owner of Swan Valley Honey Ltd.,is known for its sustainable beekeeping and a growing list of pure, raw and unpasteurized terroir-based honeys. We specialize in the careful production of wildflower honey, from the alfalfa, clover and mixed hay fields around us, and delcatable fruit honeys from fruit and berry orchards we pollinate in British Columbia. 🍯 Sampling on the High Seas! ⛴️

We are still buzzing with excitement that Honey Bee Zen is now available at the Passages gift shops on BC Ferries.

This past Friday, Sandra set sail ⛴️ on the Tsawwassen to Schwartz Bay route, sharing the sweet, pure taste of BC with travellers and crew, providing samples of our Fireweed, Kootenay Wildflower, Creamed, Lemon, and Lavender honeys.

From curious travellers to new Honey Bee Zen fans, it was a fantastic day of tasting and chatting about all things honey.

A huge thank you to the amazing BC Ferries team for welcoming us onboard—we can’t wait for more sweet journeys ahead! 🌊🐝🍯

I was minding my own beeswax walking along the road to our back shop when my sixth sense was buzzing… I looked up and low and bee-hold I spotted a swarm in the linden tree 🌿. Jeff and Andrii used a bee vac to safely relocate these bees to another hive.

Huge news! We couldn’t bee more excited to have BC Ferries order our honey for their gift shops. Olha, Bethan and I have been super busy bees packing up Tea Lovers gift packs, Fireweed honey and Kootenay Wildflower Glass Bears. UN-BEELIEVABLE DINNER AT KOOTENAY RIVER SECONDARY SCHOOL 🍽️✨

Loic Fauteux-Goulet, Culinary Instructor at Kootenay River Secondary School in Creston, BC (and winner of The Great Canadian Baking Show Season 7!) led his students to prepare a dinner to thank his program sponsors. Jeff and I, proud supporters, were invited to attend and were blown away by the impressive menu served! Our honey was highlighted in the Glazed Carrots and Crème Brûlée Yum.

Guy Rook, the East Kootenay Bee Inspector came to visit—and he was wearing the most appropriate t-shirt! Guy once borrowed my coveted pink hive tool and thought he lost it in the field 😅. He spent hours retracing his steps looking for it! (ICYDK: Bee Inspectors monitor honeybee colony health, enforce provincial apiary regulations, and help beekeepers manage pests or diseases.)

I haven't met my partner Misa yet, but I am assured she will be lots of fun. This is my first time doing something like this, and to say I am out of my comfort zone would be an understatement! 😅

Hey, isn't that what life is about? Seeing what we can do and pushing our limits—even if it seems like a crazy idea at the time.
