And that’s a wrap on . So thankful for our great team that has worked so darn hard this past month! This spring has been the most challenging with all the rain and showers to navigate Although we are thankful for the moisture, it’s been a tough one. For everyone who is not done the last pass, keep rolling. You’ve got this 👊🏻 Now let the spraying begin 🌱

If you’re interested in helping to feed the hungry….check out foodgrainsbank.ca for farmers in your local area or contact us and we’d be glad to help you help others with our acres dedicated to this wonderful project!

Did you know that some farmers are growing crops simply to donate the proceeds to feed hungry people?

Did you know that you, a city slicker, can help them do this?

Last evening one of my friends just finished seeding a canola field. He donated his time and machinery, on someone else's donated land, to plant a canola crop that when sold, the revenue will be sent to the Canadian food grains bank.

This is taken from the website (linked in the comments)

How it works.

"Generous farmers in Saskatchewan agree to grow and donate land to grow a crop for Grow Hope Saskatchewan.

You sponsor the growth of a crop with a donation to help cover the costs of farming. It costs up to $350 per acre to provide seed, fertilizer, fuel and other things needed to grow a crop.

After harvest, farmers sell the crop and donate the proceeds to Canadian Foodgrains Bank. The proceeds from the sale of the crop can be as much as $600 per acre or more. Crop proceeds used to provide emergency food assistance for people living through a crisis may be matched 4:1 through the Canadian Foodgrains Bank’s Partnership with Global Affairs Canada."

Go check it out and partner with them if you can!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the farm Mommas out there. Thank you for doing all the things to keep the business strong, focused and fun! You are loved and appreciated today and everyday. Find some time during to take a breather (and maybe even a sip or two of your favourite beverage) and simply find joy in your day. You deserve it! 💕.
