🗓 Monday–Friday
⏰ Approximately 7:00 AM–1:00 PM
🏫 Time off follows the school calendar

What you’ll be doing:
• Preparing and packaging meals
• Assisting with meal distribution
• Working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Helping our team provide quality meals to students through the Universal School Lunch Program

⭐ Bonus if you have line cook, kitchen, or food-handling experience!

Successful applicants will be required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check. Food Handler certification/experience is an asset.

🍴 POSITIONS: Cafeteria & Food Preparation Staff
💰 PAY: $18–$20/hour
📅 SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday
☀️ HOURS: Early mornings with midday/early afternoon finishes
📍 LOCATION: Halifax Regional Municipality
🗓️ STARTING: September 2026
✨ Full-time & part-time opportunities available

What you’ll be doing:
• Preparing, cooking, portioning and packaging meals
• Assisting with cafeteria service and food distribution
• Keeping kitchen and service areas clean, organized and stocked
• Following food safety and sanitation procedures
• Working alongside a fast-paced, team-focused crew

We’re looking for people who are:
✔️ Reliable and punctual
✔️ Positive and hardworking
✔️ Comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen environment
✔️ Great team players
✔️ Experienced in food prep, cafeteria service, catering or line cooking — an asset!

🏈 A Proud Smooth Smokehouse Moment! 🏆

We wanted to take a moment to recognize two members of our Smooth Smokehouse & Barbecue family, Deshaun and Wesley, and congratulate them on an incredible achievement!

Recently, both young men travelled to Des Moines, Iowa, where they competed alongside their teammates representing Nova Scotia and Canada, bringing home GOLD! 🥇 We also want to congratulate the U16 team on bringing home an incredible BRONZE! 🥉

Deshaun and Wesley have both been involved in football for many years and have spent many of those years playing alongside one another. We’ve had the privilege of watching them grow not only as athletes, but as young men, and we’re incredibly proud of everything they and their teammates have accomplished.

Sports teach so much more than what happens on the field. The discipline, commitment, teamwork, accountability and work ethic developed through athletics carry into school, jobs, careers and life. We see those qualities in both of these young men as athletes and as valued members of our team here at Smooth Smokehouse.

Congratulations to Deshaun, Wesley, their teammates, coaches and the entire organization on an outstanding performance and achievement. Thank you for representing Nova Scotia and Canada so proudly. 🇨🇦💙

A huge congratulations to Atlantic Canada Elite (ACE) flag football teams for their amazing performance at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Iowa.

The U17 Boys are bringing home the Gold Medal as Junior Olympic Champions, and the U16 Boys earned a Bronze Medal competing against top teams from across North America.

These young athletes, coaches, and families represented Nova Scotia with hard work, great sportsmanship, and pride. You have made our whole province proud with this historic performance.

Head to the RIGHT SIDE of the building, under the large Mr. Smooth’s sign. This is our main dining room where you can sit down, relax, and enjoy the full Mr. Smooth’s experience!

🥡 GRABBING TAKEOUT?
Head to the LEFT SIDE of the building and look for the window that says SMOOTHS BBQ TAKEOUT. Come through that door to place or pick up your takeout order!

Our takeout menu has expanded and now includes almost everything you can enjoy in our dining room, with just a few exceptions for items that don’t travel well or are served in our cast iron pans, like our nachos and smoked cream cheese dip.

It looks like the weather is finally going to cooperate, and we couldn’t be more excited!
