I have been waiting for this update and the results are now out! Mammoth placed 2nd in the winter buck kid class and 1st place in the Sire and Son class!
I am sharing this post because of the results of my buckling, but also to show the amount of time, energy and hard work it takes to get to this place as a breeder. These things don’t happen over night, they take years. There is a lot of sweat and tears that go into being a breeder, and I don’t think that ever ends. I am going into my 5th kidding season and I am only just starting to find my way and have a bit of confidence in what I have to offer. I have soooo much to learn, and being connected to breeders that have the same goals is a great way to move forward in the right direction.
Congratulations to everyone who got to showcase their animals 👏
Here in Nova Scotia we don’t have meat goat shows, but I got to be a tiny part of this show experience through messages and posts online because of the purchase of my new young buck Mammoth. Even just that was pretty exciting, and now I am even more proud to be the owner of Mammoth. Showing is definitely something I’d like to be part of in the future….

This is my Rideau Arcott ewe lamb Shepple. She has no manners. She’s always in my business, she bites and she jumps on me every chance she can but she’s still my favourite. Typical bottle baby behaviour. Oh and fencing is not a “it will just take a couple hours” kind of a job 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣❤️🐑

Happy Saturday. Fencing is in our day plan so the horses can can come up to the top of the property, Jack, my co-owned Buck, can come and hang with my girls and I will have a separate place for my sheep as well. I have the best husband ever who supports and works very hard so I can have all the things I love. ❤️

I have been searching for a round bale feeder for the horses for a while now. The other day when I was going to the beach with the family, I seen this feeder in a field, far off the road with a tiny for sale sign on it. I had to jump a ditch and go through a field with tall weeds while in sandals in order to get the number but it was worth it! It’s in great condition and I got an awesome deal. That’s usually the way things happen, you find things when you aren’t actually looking 🙂 Sunny and Sparkles approved ☀️ ✨ ❤️

I received the papers in the mail today and so I had to share! This is my new young buck from Mystic Hills Boer Goats. Meet Mystic Hills Hap Mammoth. I am very excited about him but I still need to be patient as he won’t be coming to the farm until the end of September.
I purchased this boy a couple months ago but he is still in Saskatchewan because the breeder asked if she could show him. I can’t wait to see how it goes. He will be showing August 29th at Melville Mayhem. This young buck is going to add great things to my herd. ❤️ 🐐 ❤️

I am glad I discovered how to make these!! Since I don’t can or preserve these are a great alternative. They are easy to make and are really yummy!
