When doing the barn chores this morning I was feeling slightly overwhelmed because I have so many things to do to get things back to running smoothly. I think this is typical for this time of year because I am moving animals out of the barn, growing animals out, and everything needs to be checked and redone after the winter. I really need to keep a journal of my feelings and experiences for each season so I remember that this is normal and Iโ€™m not going crazy ๐Ÿ˜‚ They are big jobs but once done it will make for a lighter workload for the summer and into fall.
After l vented to my friend I created a list, and actually, when written down it seems totally manageable with a few days of hard work. I am going to take this list and prioritize for most important jobs, and then send it to my husband because I know he loves goat farming just as much as I do ๐Ÿ˜†

We have to collect the kitties twice a day. They are way too cute ๐Ÿฅฐ

Itโ€™s a real thing trying to hide from my goats when I go outside , they can spot me from a mile away. ๐Ÿ˜‚

What apps are people using to keep track of their herds? I like paper, but as Iโ€™m growing it would just be easier to enter things on my phone at the time.

A bit of organized chaos bringing the goats in off the pasture. ๐Ÿ โค๏ธ

Just getting ready to throw some farm raised, grass fed, grain finished beef steaks on the smoker. This is bitter sweet because we are very lucky to be able to raise our own meat but unfortunately with the beef prices now, there is no way we can purchase one to raise for our family. Even if we split it, it still doesnโ€™t make sense. $3500 for a 500lb young cow itโ€™s very out of reach for us. Every time we cook beef we are one meal closer to not having it anymore. Even though itโ€™s not a replacement, I have purchased more pigs to raise, extra turkeys and chickens, and we do plan to try our goat this year. Grocery prices are super high and even though people might not think so, itโ€™s even tough for us farmers. Howโ€™s everyone else handling these high prices?

Look what we did! We have been practicing and it has paid off. A few months ago there is no way Sunny would have walked down the driveway with me this calmly and no way I would have been this calm either. He is starting to get confidence and I can tell he is starting to trust me. Watching this video makes me very happy ๐Ÿ’• ๐ŸŽ ๐Ÿ˜Š

I mean, I guess we are both a little to blame ๐Ÿ™ƒ
