In 2017, I was successful in obtaining a New Entrant Egg Quota and established Long Range Poultry Farm. Dennis Farms that was originally started as a hobby in 1999 and established as a business in 2007 was a 60 acre + operation based in Piccadilly, but also farmed land in West Bay and Campbell's Creek. In 2017 Long Range Poultry Farm was established in Cormack when I was successful in obtaining a New Entrant Egg Quota. I continued to farm in both locations until 2019 at which point the majority of the farm production was moved to Cormack location. I still raise the few sheep that I have as well as market hogs in the summer at the Piccadilly location, also my parents continues to sell farm products from their home for me to serve our customers in the area. The farm is currently an approximately 200+ acre operation that produces vegetables, forage( dry small square bales, and wraped round bales), pasture finished beef and lamb, as well as pork. Also I have quota for 5177 laying hens, and I lease in additional quota from other producers which allows me to have approximately 7000 laying hens split into 2 different flocks. I am currently the only commercial Free Run egg producer on the Island of Newfoundland.
