When your 4 year old asks if they can take their pet chicken "Izzy" for a car ride, naturally you say yes, right? 🤣

Context: We were loading up to go pick up a bag of chicken feed when Izzy (the chicken) jumped into the car. This has become a routine occurrence, largely because children leave crumbs behind and Izzy and Molly the chickens have discovered that cars are a food source. When Izzy (the chicken) jumped into the car today, Izzy the child caught her and then proceeded to ask if she could go for a ride. In an effort for childhood me to live vicariously through my children, I said yes and zero regrets were had.

Let's just talk Isabel Ameraucanas for a second. I accidentally stumbled upon this breed a few years ago when I bought some hatching eggs from a local breeder who had a mixed pen of Ameraucanas. Low and behold I only ended up with a few chicks and they were this unique dilute lavender colour.

Turns out Isabel Ameraucanas are a combination of Lavender and Wheaten genetics. With their absolute beauty and the fact that they shared a name with my first born, Isabel, it was meant to be.

I have 6 hens and 1 unrelated rooster from a breeder near Milton. However, I also recently hatched out a new bloodline from Westerdale Farms in Alberta!

Photos don't do this girl justice. If you've ever been curious about adding Ameraucanas to your flock, I would highly encourage you to do so.

I know I've been on a bit of a Muscovy Duck craze lately, but can you blame me? Check out this beauty! I've never seen a Muscovy with this colouration before. Any of my Muscovy peeps know what he/she will mature like? The mom is blue and the dad could be chocolate, black or blue. I have pied, barred and bibbed variations of each colour. 🤷🏼‍♀️😍

Fun fact: My parents bought Muscovy ducks for me to raise for the workers on our farm when I was a kid. I picked the first drake to be processed and then cried my heart out. My mom didn't have the heart to watch that again so in that moment I became the proud owner of a flock of Muscovies. ❤️ I've been obsessed ever since.

These little cuties are getting picked up soon, but in the meantime they have an entire empire being built for them. 😅🤣

I have a Black Copper Marans pullets and cockerels (pairs, trios etc.) available immediately. They hatched out mid March so they are not yet ready to lay, but should start laying by the end of summer. 3️⃣5️⃣ Each for pullets.

Randy the duck appears to have some neurological issues (which turns out are common in crested varieties due to the mutation that is actually a gap in their skull). She has a slight head tilt and periodically loses her balance and falls over. We've switched her feed and have increased vitamins specifically to nourish a growing duck's little body and we've already noticed a huge difference. Can we just admire how cute Molly and Randy's relationship is. ❤️
