Happy Launch Day, everyone! The first wave of Epicure products will be available to order today, some time between 9:00am and 12:00 noon.

Funny story:

If you've been following this page for a while, you've probably seen posts where I've mentioned that Caelan's favourite food is Epicure Homestyle Chicken Stew. When Epicure closed, he was heartbroken because we only had 15 packages of it left. We usually use 2 packs for our family of 4 and there would be leftovers for Caelan to have the next day for lunch. Each pack has 2.4 ounces of mix.

Anyways, after the closure, a lot of Epicure products were put up for auction. One of them was a bulk bag of Homestyle Chicken Stew! In the auction picture, it looked like it was a bag that would weigh 20 or 30 pounds. Of course I had to bid on it, and I WON! A bag of bulk HCS mix for only $30!!! What a bargain!

I had to work on pick-up day, so I sent Bryan to get it. When he got there, he sent me a terse text:

"NO MORE BULK EPICURE!!!!"

Apparently, when he got there they asked him where his truck was to load it (with a forklift). What I thought was a 20-30 pound bag was actually a MASSIVE bag! It took 3 men to load it into Bryan's Ford Flex. He had to put the seats down to fit it in.

It's currently in our basement in a giant sealed bag in a wheelbarrow. I'm waiting for a free day to repackage it into more manageable-sized bags.

Needless to say, Caelan is a VERY happy boy! We have enough Homestyle Chicken Stew mix to last us for years.

The new Epicure will be offering products in both jars and packets for What's For Dinner products. The new WFD packets will be in stand-up pouches with an easy-tear top.

They are starting to package new products now, but have run into a bit of a glitch. They have the glass jars but there is a production delay on the lids. In the meantime, they will start offering what will be sold in jars in resealable packets instead. This is so they don't have to delay their start date. The resealable packs will have the same amount of product as they will be offering in the jars when those become available.
