Join us September 20 for our first annual pie potluck from 1-4pm! Admission is a pie of any sort (per family) meant for sharing 🥧 we would appreciate you bringing your own plate, fork, and mug. Coffee, tea, music, and good vibes are on the house (or farm as it is). Our flower u-pick will be open as well as our farm store, and our favourite mobile bookstore Secret Society of Books | A Traveling Bookshop is rolling up. Rain or shine the pie times will happen! Because we love you, we love flowers, and we have reached the point of our season where we’re a little crazy, we are giving away a u-pick flower experience for up to TEN people, the winner and their friends must be available between 9-10am THIS SUNDAY August 2nd and be okay with having their picture taken and tastefully shared on social media.

Details:
Winner receives a u-pick flower experience for up to ten people this Sunday August 2nd between the hours of 9-10am. Participants will be given a bucket and a pair of snips to use while they’re here and are welcome to pick as many stems as they want as long as they fit in the bucket. This is an unguided experience but we will be around if you have questions. Currently, we have an abundance of dahlias, zinnias, snaps, scabiosa, cosmos, roses, sunflowers and many other bits and pieces to complement your pickings. You’re welcome to bring a breakfast snack or picnic and we will provide a herbal infusion and cups.

We know you’re busy. Life is bananas, truly—what a time we’re living in. We also know the medicine our fields and fresh air, birdsong and flowers bring. So we offer you this: two spots in any of our flower workshops this flower season: two hours of bliss, a bit of quiet banter while you’re toured around and given tips to pick our seasonal flower offerings. You’re invited to select as many stems as you like, you’ll be given some ideas about arranging, and encouraged to embrace your inner artist. Nibbles and non-alcoholic beverages provided.

Farming is really hard work but one of its many perks is that Em and I get to bring home flowers whenever we want. The hardest day can be forgotten when you’re staring and smelling a fresh vase of beautiful blooms, and we’d like to share this perk with you! In celebration of the launch of our summer flower subscriptions and flower workshops, we are offering one lucky person a straight bunch subscription! Enjoy three months of the freshest, most bountiful blooms, wrapped and ready for pickup each week. Straight bunches include: sweet peas, sunflowers, snapdragons, strawflowers, zinnias, dahlias, eucalyptus, asters, and more.

Winner must be available to pick weekly blooms up Saturdays (10-4), Sundays (10-4), and/or Mondays (10-8), starting this week. If you’re out of town, you can send a friend to enjoy your stems!

IT’S BLUEBERRY SEASON! 🫐

Our farm store is stocked with freshly picked, no-spray blueberries from our friends at . Available by the pint, quart, five pound box, or ten pound box while quantities last. To be enjoyed by the handful, these gems may not make it on top of your French toast, into your smoothie, or tucked into a crisp. We’ve all been drive by eating our staff box, walking around with purple berry moustaches. Even the dogs like them. And why not? No-spray is as good as it gets, and it’s the way we grow our offerings too. If it doesn’t say no-spray elsewhere in the wild, it isn’t.

Our flower fields are ready for u-pick action! Buckets, snips, and good vibes provided.

Our farm store is loaded with freshly picked vegetables, fruit, sourdough bread (while quantities last), our beloved stem bar, and a few other sweets and treats.

How To Eat A Whole Cabbage in One Sitting: A Memoir

One of our favourite ways to eat cabbage is shredded and sautéed with butter and salt in a cast iron pan. Remove the cabbage core, chop into small pieces, heat the pan with a dollop of butter and a sprinkle of salt, then add the whole cabbage. Sauté until the cabbage is the desired tenderness then plate. We like our cabbage in the morning topped with a fried egg whose yolk is still runny.

We have a wide variety of flowers, vegetables, and herbs in our farm store for you this weekend. Our stem bar is abundant and our flower fields ready for some u-pick action (buckets and snips provided)! Wrapped bunches of sweet peas and snapdragons are also available for purchase.

As always, you’re welcome to enjoy some peaceful time under our event tent or at one of our picnic tables. Come listen to the birds chirp and the breeze blow. We look forward to seeing you. ✨

We have no-spray delicious strawberries for sale by the pint in our farm store this weekend, we were going to rip the patch this winter and plant it with nettle but decided to give it one more season and we are happy we did.
