Our summer food forestry workshops have wrapped up: The first was on edible perennials and the second was on water management. We had 2 batches of enthusiastic participants and lots of learning and fun was had.

Big thanks to both Nutcase Nursery and The Snag for hosting evening tours and Imas Kitchen, Two Roads Farm and Jill (of TreeEater) for all the local foods.

An interesting note on seedling variation: LOOK at the thorns on these seed grown sechuan peppers! They just popped out everywhere on year 3: even on top of the leaves! Regular cloned sechuan peppers do not have thorns like this.

Is anyone else experiencing unusually high -off the charts- bird pressure on their berry crops this year? They're taking everything here, through the nets. Stuff they've never wanted before.
