Our Pumpkin U-Pick is this weekend!
September 21 and 22nd
10am to 4pm both days

It's that time of year again! The fall harvest is upon us. Along with the changing colours, cooling air and shorter days comes the ripening and sweetening of the harvest. In alignment with the natural laws of nature we see that the right things show up at the right time. This is why food is abundant and delicious at this time of year. It's the time to seize the opportunity and stock up for the winter. We invite you to come to join us at our 10th annual U-pick at our farm. It's going to be our last U-pick for a few years so come on out and enjoy local food!

Pick from a great selection of beautiful pumpkins and squash to bring home and enjoy for your fall soups and stews. Or create a beautiful fall display for your front porch or table from a selection of our decorative gourds. We also have lots of nice big orange Jack-o-lantern pumpkins for the kids to pick for Halloween!

Directions: From Didsbury Overpass of Hwy #2, head east on Hwy 582 for about 4.5 miles (7 km). Then turn south on Range Road 283. Travel 2.5 miles (4 km) and the pumpkin patch is on the east side of the road. Watch for signs.

We're very excited to announce our summer farm tour this August 11th! 1pm - 6pm
It's our Member Appreciation BBQ to show you how we do things out here at Kohut Farm. It's a great opportunity to learn about regenerative farming practices and how to use holistic practices to support a growing membership of independent food producers. We will be starting the tour at the farm at 1:30 to look at some of our covercrops, polycrops, grazing pastures and feed production. We'll be talking about our feed products, intercrop-organic grain production, holistic animal nutrition, German New Medicine for livestock, private memberships, and much more. There will be refreshments available and we will end with a BBQ around 5pm.

It's that time again! Our annual Pumpkin U-Pick is on September 16th and 17th. That's this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm both days. We have a huge variety of squash and pumpkins for the whole family! From decorative gourds to delicious squash and big jack-o-lanterns. You are invited to bring your family and enjoy picking your very own food as you prepare for the fall and winter seasons! Come and enjoy the abundance that nature has to offer.

Directions
From Hwy 582 east of Didsbury turn south on Range Road 283 (5 miles east of the overpass) and travel south for 2.5km. We're on the east side of the road. Watch for the signs!

Did you know that egg yolks can change color depending on what the hens are eating? In the summer if you are pasturing chickens they are eating plenty of fresh grass and the yolks will turn a darker yellow. In most cases that darker color indicates more nutrient density and higher quality eggs. But this isn't always to case. In intensive egg production facilities/barns they cleverly use a feed additive that is made by BASF that will change the color of the yolk without changing the quality and nutrient density of the egg. It's called Lucantin(R) red and Lucantin(R) yellow, You don't feel ripped off at all do ya!!! Check it out for yourself. Click on the link below.

Hey folks! We would like to invite you out to the annual Pumpkin U-Pick at Kohut Farm. It's this weekend! What a great opportunity to get some local, nutrient dense, organically grown veggies.

Come out and enjoy the fun. Whether you're creating a beautiful fall display for your front porch or stocking up on Halloween pumpkins and sugar pie pumpkins we've got them all.
- The kids will be selling their cookies and treats as well.
