Essentials for our Community is a non-profit society that was established to build a greater network for serving those in our community who are in need. The board consists of members who are representative of several local churches, businesses, and community members at large. All donati

ons are used to directly benefit people in Didsbury, AB. We work in partnership with local business and have established a system of pre-paid cards that people can take for the food and baby items they actually need and use. This reduces waste, work load, and allows for people to get the specific items they most need. We give out;
• Grocery cards
• Diaper coupons
• Gas cards
• Hair cuts
• Counselling and mentoring. We also offer a hot meal KONNECTION KITCHEN on Thursday nights that allows community members to come together for good food and fellowship. Local businesses sponsor the cost of these nutritious meals, and regularly donate produce, dairy and bakery items to help supplement our families' daily needs. When an individual/family comes for support, we take the time to get to know them, their specific situation and offer not only the cards, but support for their individual circumstances. We have seen this approach change lives as people feel safe, open and accepted.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to volunteer holidays, we will be CLOSED for our Konnection Kitchen meal service on August 20th and 27th.
Vouchers will still be available on those days from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
We will be back again on September 3rd!

What a great event!! We raised $5580 for Essentials for our Community!

Shout out to Justin Murry who raised over $1700 in pledges and not only completed the 5k, but kept going and did 10k!!! Absolutely amazing.
Justin completed the event on prosthetics and brought such a great energy with his music and flags! Way to go Justin!!!
