Well…turns out putting on a wedding takes a village. 🤍

And we had THE BEST village.

To everyone who helped make Ava and Luke’s day so beautiful, from the big jobs to the little details, the decorating, flowers, food, setup, cleanup, feeding us along the way, fixing things that probably should have been fixed sooner 😂 and everything in between, THANK YOU.

You showed up, pitched in, and helped turn our farm into the most beautiful place for our girl to say “I do.” We could never have done it without you. 🤍

We love you. We appreciate you.

Well, it’s not exactly the prettiest picture… but this is the good stuff. 🧄😂

Freshly dug garlic, hanging out and curing before it makes its way to your kitchen. There’s something pretty satisfying about seeing a whole season of growing, digging, and dirt under our fingernails hanging right here.

Our garlic is grown right here on the farm, and let me tell you… once you’ve had farm-grown garlic, the grocery store stuff just doesn’t hit the same. 😉

Introducing Pearce—our middle child who probably hasn’t been properly introduced around here yet. 😅

He’s taking over the farm report this week, and honestly… not sure he loved every minute of it. 😂 But he’s a good sport, and now that he’s the only one left at home, well… he has to toe the line. 😉

So…how did he do? Are we handing him the microphone again, or was this a one-time appearance? 😂

From berries to blooms! 🌸 The raspberries are resting and the dahlias are just getting started. Our favourite season change on the farm. Stay tuned, the field is about to be a whole different kind of beautiful.

That’s a wrap on raspberry season, and what a sweet one it was! Thank you to every family who drove out, filled a basket, and made a morning of it. You’re the reason we do this. Now keep an eye on the field, something colourful is about to happen 🌸

Ever wonder if one raspberry tastes different from another? 🤔

We grow two varieties here at Prairie Grove Acres: Killarney and Nova. While they both look like raspberries, each has its own personality.

❤️ Killarney is known for its classic sweet raspberry flavour with a softer, juicier texture.
💜 Nova tends to be a little firmer with a slightly brighter, tangier taste.

So… can you taste the difference?

Because our fruit ripens naturally, our picking days and hours change throughout the season and we need to close some days to allow more berries to ripen.

It’s go-time 🌸✨

Our dahlia tuber sale is officially LIVE and we are so grateful for every single order. Truly — when you choose to grow our tubers, you’re supporting our farm in the most tangible way. It means the world to us.

There are still plenty of beauties in stock, so keep dreaming up the garden you’ve been sketching in your mind all winter. Big borders. Armfuls for the vase. The whole thing.

If you chose shipping, we’ll send your tubers once Manitoba decides to stop being dramatic (looking at you, late April/early May). No frozen tubers on our watch.

If you chose local delivery or farm pick-up, we’ll be in touch in April with dates and time slots. Need them sooner? Just message us — we’ll make it happen.

My mom would’ve loved this palette, purple was her colour. Every season when the rows fill in, I catch myself wondering which varieties she would have approved of. Which ones she’d call “good growers.” Which ones would earn a quiet nod.

If you’re planning your own garden this year, maybe choose with someone in mind. A grandmother. A friend. A daughter. Let your garden tell a story of the people who shaped you.

Our dahlia tuber sale opens soon, and I can’t help but think she would have been excited to see what we are growing. I hope you grow something that reminds you of someone you love.
