August on the farm

The flowers are putting on their biggest show, the turkeys are growing like weeds, the sheep are doing what sheep do, and there’s always one more farm chore waiting around the corner.

It’s busy. It’s beautiful. It’s a little bit chaotic.

And we wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Hi, I’m one of the Wild Hearts Haven turkeys.

I’ve been informed there are “holiday reservations.”

I assumed that meant a nice vacation. Apparently…it means me.

Anyway, the humans wanted me to let you know that October (Thanksgiving) and December (Christmas) preorders are now open. $6.35/lb, deposit required to secure yours today.

They only raise a limited flock, so if you want one, you’d better DM them before we’re all spoken for.

The bouquets have been up since the crack of dawn… unlike a few of us. 😴🌼

We’re all set up at the Norwood Farmers’ Market until 12:00 PM with fresh-cut bouquets picked right from our fields. Whether you need flowers for your kitchen table, your cottage, your weekend host, or simply because today feels like a flower kind of day—we’ve got you covered.

There are so many wonderful local vendors here, so grab a coffee, wander the market, and support local this long weekend. ❤️

When the farmers leave the farm for a night (or one is injured), Farm Mom gets promoted to… Temporary Farmhand. 🤠😂

Here’s today’s farm report:

🐑 The sheep were baa-ridiculously suspicious. They spent the entire time wondering where their favourite humans disappeared to and questioning every move I made.

🐔 The hens? So judgmental. One decided my job wasn’t challenging enough, hopped to the wrong side of the fence just to be caught, and as for the eggs… let’s just say they organized the world’s best game of hide-and-seek.

🐶 The livestock guardian dogs were absolute angels. Whether it was love for me or love for supper… the jury’s still out.

🦆 The ducks refused to get into their safe house for the night. Apparently mysterious raccoon paw prints on the duck house weren’t a convincing enough argument.

🌸 The flowers were the only ones who behaved—standing there looking absolutely stunning while the rest of the barnyard questioned my qualifications.

And that’s a wrap from your temporary farmhand! No animals were harmed, everyone eventually made it to bed, and Farm Mom might just recover… after a hot shower, a cup of tea, and about three days of rest. 😂❤️
