Maple Roo Enterprises has been in operation in Alberta, Canada since 1998. We are a family-owned company specializing in:
* Oil and Gas Services:
Peter is a Red Seal Journeyman Pipefitter with an extremely well-fitted out tool truck. We have a 20 foot office - pipefitting trailer and a 3 ton picker truck as well.
* Bison:
Our herd of pure Plains bison ranges happily on our farm north

of Drayton Valley in west-central Alberta. They are grass-fed; no grain feeding, no hormones, no subtherapeutic antibiotics. We handle our animals as quietly and positively as possible, and always try to understand their needs to maintain a low-stress, contented herd. A happy day for us is one spent in the pasture with them grazing around us, especially when the new calves are being born! They are Mother Nature's gold. We farm-gate sell provincially inspected meat from young animals in packages from 20-odd pounds to a half or entire animal, and will deliver larger packages in the west-central area. Talk to us if you live elsewhere in the province and we will see what we can work out!

Hmmm. We have three x 2019 females, so they have had 2 calves each. Both years the three of them have calved within 4 or 5 days of each other, and both years they have all had the same s*x calves (bulls in 2022, heifers in 2023). Now that’s carrying sisterhood to the ultimate!

Calves are weaned and had their vaccine booster. All animals weighed. Nobody and no animals hurt. It was a very good day, thanks to our great yard crew, daughter Heather Neilley, and good friends and neighbours Ania Bohn and Lane Morgan Janz. Lots of laughs and a smooth operation. The hydraulic squeeze that Jamie Morrill of Morand Industries built for us last fall was well worth the money.

It “could” be possible to have bison that are too quiet 🤣🤣. This 2021 bull then proceeded to go to the back of the side by side and give his head a good scratch on the rails. (If I had felt in any danger from him or any of the rest of the herd I would have just started the engine and driven away. I spend enough time with these animals that I can read their tells and act accordingly. Do NOT let them this close if you don’t spend a lot of time with those particular animals; every herd has a different attitude.)
