Kellsons Canadian Maple Mustard was founded by Travis and Tanya Kell in 2016 when they relocated from Calgary AB to Elmira ON. The story however was really born back in 2009 when Travis and Tanya relocated to Belleville ON from Maidstone UK after having both spent numerous years working, travelling and living on these magnificent Isles but only meeting each other and falling in love in their last

six months of being there. Shortly after they were eloping in South Africa and embarking on the voyage of a lifetime to Canada! (a worthy note here is that Travis, along with many of the other Commonwealth citizens there working on highly skilled migrant worker Visas were forced to "Brexit" due to the changing political tides and the UK forming it's ties with Europe and not renewing a lot of the 4 year permits). Landing in Belleville Ontario with a comfy stash in savings from a summer of running a very successful Market stall at Borough Market London and Broadstairs Pier Kent, they were anxious to get back in the game and very quickly got a stall at the Belleville Farmers' Market. Always champions of local (and Travis a true patriot) they launched a stand selling Canadian Bacon (pemeal or cured pork loin) sandwiches and it was an immediate hit. The highlight of it was a mustard that Tanya would hand craft for each market day which had many of the punters demanding why she did not bottle and sell this "mustardy awesomeness". What followed however was a job offer that took them out of the region...then a mortgage...then another better job offer in Calgary...then a son being born...then another mortgage...then another son...then...hmmmm wellll errrrrrr...we feel kinda far away out here in Alberta and neither of us have a job that is really that resource dependent...and so....FFWD to 2016 and here we are... Travis, Tanya, Talwyn (now 4) and Torbyn (now 1) in Elmira Ontario, Tanya with the awesome Job at Conestoga College and Travis the stay at home Dad keen to get back in the Market Stall game! Then on April 2nd the family attended the Elmira Maple Syrup festival (gamechanger!) and not only had a blast but had their eyes opened to the many potentialities around not only Maple Syrup but also around the market and festival scene in this area (Travis remarking at one point that "Look Honey! Even the dodgy looking fella with the appallingly dirty 1980's Shopsy's Hot Dog Cart has a queue 10 people long!)

They swiftly returned to their test kitchen (hehe) with some Maple Syrup purchased from the festival and set out to use it in the Mustard and OH BOY you have to taste the results! This pourable liquid awesomeness has always been about the texture and this addition made this already amazing thing a Grand Cru experience. So now they have decided to launch it, Kellsons Canadian Maple Mustard, a family business. Soon Travis will be "popping up" at a nearby Farmers' Market with of course bottles of the stuff to sell but also his newest "vehicle that will allow you to taste the Mustard in all it's glory" the Canadian Bacon Slider. Lavender pretzels + beer. Yes, please.

We're always looking for new wonderful ways to showcase culinary lavender, and this is our newest invention.

Warm soft pretzels served with lavender cream cheese + lavender maple whole grain mustard. Best enjoyed with a Lavender Weekday Wit Shandy (non-alcoholic) served with lavender simple syrup + a slice of orange.
