It took them some time to get used to the scary automatic door, but they LOVE when it opens now!!!

1.5 years ago we learned about a great program called Loop Resource. They connect farmers with regular pickups of unsellable food from local stores to feed their animals and lower feed costs. We have been on a waiting list, as only one store ( No Frills ) in Dryden participates in this amazing program. We are now officially enrolled, and will be starting regular pickups soon! In the meantime, we helped out another farm who couldn't make their pick up this week and our animals are loving all of it! We are so grateful that there is a program like this available to us! Quite the start to our morning! The automatic door on the duck coop opens at 9:15 am, I went out at 9:38am to let the turkeys out and put fresh water in the duck coops, also to collect the eggs. The ducks usually lay in the morning, the chickens usually between 11am- 4 pm. I made it to the turkey coops when the ducks started going crazy and Hitch ran to their coop and he also started going crazy. I get to the coop as quick as I can, and TWO big Ravens were flying around the duck coop! OMG I was so scared! The adult ducks were all huddled safe outside, the younger ducks huddled in a corner in the coop as the Ravens were freaking out because they couldn't get back out. They found the small door to get in- couldn't find it to get out. Every single duck egg broken....all ducks OK! We got the Ravens out, eggs cleaned up, ducks calm- and was happy to see that it didn't take the ducks long to head in to their coop. I was worried that they would be too scared. All is good now, except all of my senses are in over drive now.

🥚 Farmstand Update: Back to the Basics! 🥚
Hi everyone! We love being your local egg source, but to keep our little farmstand running smoothly (and keep our own stress levels low!), we are stepping back to how we originally intended the Farmstand to operate. Moving forward, the stand will be fully self-serve and hands-off.

Here is how it will work:
💥First-Come, First-Served: We will not be taking new pre-orders, and will no longer hold cartons, or keep a waitlist. Removing the above ensures that the fridge stays consistently stocked for anyone who swings by! Our hope is that when you swing by, there will always be something waiting for you.
Stocked Daily: We add eggs to the fridge throughout the week as the girls lay them (we are still trying to negotiate a strict production schedule with the hens, but they refuse to listen!).
💥No Online Stock Updates: Because we add eggs as we get them, and while we have a camera for security, we aren't monitoring the live feed to see what's left. We won't be posting daily availability or answering stock questions via text/messages going forward.
💥For Our Regulars: If you already have a recurring weekly or bi-weekly pre-order set up with us, don't worry, your current spot is safe and will not change!
💥Quick Reminder: Grab your lotion bars and lip balms at the stand soon before they are tucked away for the winter!
