Glen Eden Organic Farm is a lush 8 1/2 acre property nestled in the peaceful Sahtlam Hills between Duncan and Lake Cowichan. Certified organic from 2005 - 2020, we grow a wide variety of market garden vegetables, berries and herbs as well as transplants. Production fields are fenced but the rest of the property remains natural allowing deer and elk to move through and drink from our two ponds. Fre
quent visits from eagles are common and in spring the swallows return each year to nest and raise their young. For full details and to become a WWOOFER please visit http://www.wwoof.ca/user/30941

"It is an active, labour-intensive, small-scale operation where guests share all aspects of running the farm. This might include preparing garden beds, planting, weeding, or harvesting; caring for the chickens; and, mending fences or helping with construction. On rainy days you may be in the kitchen assisting with baking bread, or freezing, drying or canning the harvest. We ask for a range of 5-6 hours a day (5 days/week), which includes time helping prepare meals that we eat together, and cleaning up. Hours are flexible, depending on weather and needs (longer days if we're working on a major project, balanced by shorter days). Our farm suits wwoofers who enjoy outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, and swimming (Cowichan River and the Canada Trail are nearby). In summer a local pastime is to spend the day floating down the river on inflated inner tubes. We provide 3 nourishing meals per day. Breakfasts are sometimes shared meals such as waffles, fruit and yoghurt or bacon and eggs, and often make-your-own depending on schedules and when everyone gets up. Lunches are usually self-serve - garden produce, homemade soups, or breads & cheeses, or dinner leftovers. Dinners are hearty and eaten together. We eat our own organic chicken and local beef or lamb or seafood when available. Vegetarian options may be provided." LGBTQ WWOOFers are Welcome
