Oakshire Farm Oakshire Farm is a small family farm, on our 6 acres we are doing our best to get back to basics.

Next year is going ...
to be the year we start growing veggies! I have never liked or been good at gardening, but next year my plan is to grow more of our own food to put away for the rest of the year. Right now on our little farm we have a small heard of Jersey cows that we milk, I also make my own cheese, butter, ice cream, and I try to make yogurt, but have yet to master it. W e also use our ex

tra milk to raise bull calves that we pick up from a local dairy farm. We generally raise them till they are weaned and they then go off to their new homes. But we also keep one or two a year to raise for our own beef as well as some for family and friends. We have chickens for eggs and meat, we are going to raise 2 batches of turkeys (Thanksgiving and Christmas) And rabbits for meat. We do our best to be as self sufficient as we can be on our little farm, growing and raising happy and healthy food for our family.
