Silas Bowman and family are moving today to Bruce Mines area, they officially retired their roadside stand last Saturday. I have been partnered with him since the opening of Mill Market in 2014, visiting his farm every week (most weeks more than 3 times) to pick up products and storing all my veggies in his ice house.
He told me years ago that 2025 would be his last year for roadside stand and none of his children wanted to take on the demand of growing all veggies. It sure seems to have come up fast.
I will continue to sell his winter veggies this winter and next summer he plans on growing some of his most popular veggies for me to sell at Soo Market like green onions, broccoli and cauliflower and of course CORN.
