This is for the one who is burnt out.
This is for the one who feels like she gives and gives and gives and it isn’t reciprocated in the way she wishes it was.
She feels invisible and unimportant. She used to find joy in going above and beyond for the people she loves, but it’s starting to feel heavy and burdensome. She’s starting to feel like she just can’t.
Listen friend, I want you to know I see you and you are a blessing to those who know you.
Thank you. You have done so much. You are a gem, a true treasure. Thank you for loving so hard and so well.
I want you to know something else too, and this might be harder to hear:
It isn’t healthy to go on like this.
It’s going to continue to steal your joy and suck you dry. I know that isn’t your goal, and I know that the people who truly love you do not want that for you either.
It’s time to love yourself better, and no one can do that for you. You’re going to have to step up to the plate and treat yourself like your needs matter. Full stop.
No one can be the keeper of your castle and the protector of your peace, but you.
I think sometimes we just want people to just KNOW without us telling them. We want them to know they’re asking too much. We want them to know that we need them to step it up. But the thing is, that’s not realistic and it’s not healthy. We can’t expect anyone to read our minds.
No one can have boundaries for you.
No one can say no for you.
No one knows what you need…but you.
I know you’re trying to be nice and kind and loving. You don’t want to let people down or hurt their feelings. I get it, I really do.
But you’ve got to take care of you, my friend. Stop running yourself dry. It’s taking a toll on your heart and that’s not good for anyone. It’s actually hurting your relationships more than it’s helping them. I know it seems backwards, but it’s true.
I need you to know something, you’re actually going to be able to love the important people in your life BETTER when you take care of you.
It’s time.
You’re loved for more than what you do and what you give.
Stop stretching yourself so far and so thin. You’re enough as you are.
