Our last ewe lambed Monday night. I thought she was going to have twins but only had a single so I decided to check her to see. In the process of trying to catch this skittish first time ewe lamb she kicked me in the back of my hand. She ended up dislocating my ring finger as well as breaking the finger. We rushed to emerg where I finally took of my glove to reveal the damage, my ring finger was pushed down so it was the same hight as my pinky. They managed to put it back into place but the bone fragment broke straight through and was a part of my joint and not lining up. Thursday we headed to Edmonton where they proceeded to put pins in my finger to help hold everything in place while it heals. But lambing is officially done which is good since I’m down to one hand.

Not only do these boys look good they bring great genetics with them. Hoping our doe kids some doelings this year that we can retain from last years buck to match up with one of these new guys.

I’d like to introduce you to Peter and Parker. Yesterday was a day of driving. We spent 13 hours in the vehicle driving around to pick up two new Nubian bucklings from two different breeders. I’m looking forward to what they will offer for 2027 kidding.

Lambing started early this year for us with our first ewe lambing Monday night. Our first ewe of the year had triplets. We don’t normally lamb quite this early but in the fall the rams had other plans and broke into the ewe pen. We now have a small group of 4 ewes lambing now with the rest due to start April 10.

We’re still here!! Life has been busy. I went back to college back in September for my off farm job so I took a step back from Instagram but not the farm. While I’m not done yet and still have a practicum to do lambing has started and who doesn’t like seeing lamb spam pictures.
