🌿 Building a Better Herb Farm, One Small Improvement at a Time
When people visit the farm, they see herbs.
What they don't always see is the work happening behind the scenes to grow stronger, healthier plants.
These past few weeks I've been collecting woody herbs like rosemary, thyme, sage, and French tarragon to become future mother plants. These are the plants that will provide cuttings for the next generation of herbs, helping me grow vigorous, consistent stock.
I've also made a simple change by adding shower curtains around the shelves. It may not look glamorous, but it helps hold warmth and humidity around the plants while still allowing plenty of ventilation while lights glow overhead.
For woody herbs, consistency matters.
Stable temperatures reduce stress. Steady humidity helps young cuttings root. Healthier plants mean stronger herbs for your garden, kitchen, or patio.
Every adjustment teaches me something new, and each improvement helps me grow better plants for the people who support this little farm.
Today it might look like a rack wrapped in plastic.
Tomorrow it's fresh rosemary for your roast chicken, thyme for your soup, or tarragon for your summer salad.🌱 Always growing. Always learning.
