Tea, known as “cha” in various cultures, carries a rich history that showcases its global evolution and significance, with differing names across countries reflecting cultural adaptations. In Nepal, it is called chiya and plays an essential role in social life, often spiced uniquely for flavor.

The Nepali tea industry began in 1863 with the Ilam Tea Estate, facing early struggles but revitalizing after 1950 with investments leading to the establishment of the first Organic Certified Tea Garden in 1984. Today, Kanchanjangha Tea Estate thrives, emphasizing community and sustainability, with dedicated workers, mostly women, nurturing tea production, inviting consumers to connect with nature and tradition through every sip.
