Pourin’ steins and dressed to the nines! 🍺⚡️

Pitt County BBQ and Pals Sandwiches are cookin’ up a storm and it’s pretty great weather out in the b**r tents!

The taproom crew went all out dressing the place up for Oktoberfest, you won’t believe you didn’t have to buy a plane ticket to get here. ✈️

Happy hosen season!! Big free-entry street party kicks off tomorrow! We made a batch of Brave Little Pröster for the occasion, a strong Festbier style l***r we brewed as an homage to those perfected by German breweries to be served at Oktoberfest!

Made with locally produced pilsner malt from Hogarth Malt near Olds, this l***r highlights rich toasty malt notes with a satisfyingly refreshing finish.

It could seem intimidating to take a crack at brewing something that comes from such a rich historical brewing tradition, but we think our Brave Little Pröster can hold it’s own in a crowded b**r hall with the best of them.

Swing by Seventy Gr8 Avenue tomorrow and Saturday to enjoy tasty Oktoberfesty eats from Pitt County BBQ, Pals Sandwiches, Fuge Sausage, and BonTonBakery! We’ll have talented folks spinning tunes, giant b**rs and ordered more steins to put them in this year too! There’s some special seasonal brews from Sea Change Brewing Co., Blind Enthusiasm Brewing Co., and our newly open neighbours Ye**ty Boys Brewing Co available for slurpin’ in the big heated tents on the street so you don’t have to stick to our swill.

We’re excited to welcome Jessie Bird Music to the taproom for next week’s edition of Bent Ear hosted by our pal Von Bieker!

Jessie Bird is a country-folk singer-songwriter from Camrose, Alberta whose music is rooted in honest storytelling, resilience, healing, and hope. Drawing inspiration from artists like Emmylou Harris, Caroline Spence, and Rose Cousins, Jessie writes deeply personal songs that find connection in the messy, tender, and beautiful parts of being human.

Jessie released her debut EP, The Way Love Goes, in August 2025. Produced by Kyle Mosiuk at New Sky Studio, the five-song project weaves together vulnerability, reflection, and strength. The EP reached #17 on CKUA Radio’s Top 30 chart before its official release week and has received radio support across Canada and internationally, including airplay in the United States, Australia, Mexico, and Italy. Jessie’s music has also been featured on CBC’s Provincial Playlist.

We’re hosting a free show as a part of the CFR backroads series Wednesday October 7th! Taylor Grace Goodman and Luke Colborne will be sharing some hot tunes, and we’ll take care of the cold b**rs. 🍻

From October 1-10, 30+ artists from across Alberta and beyond will take over 11 venues for 13 FREE to venues across the city!

Dust off your dirndl, we’re throwing a big Oktoberfest party here on Seventy Gr8 Avenue! 🍻

We’ll be closing the street down, decorating some big giant tents and pouring German-style b**rs brewed for the occasion. There’s also an all-star lineup of food friends slingin’ eats! We’ll have enough pretzels, brats, and smoked chicken to pop a button on your lederhosen.

Thanks to River City Events for helping us out with the tents and Pals Sandwiches, BonTonBakery, Fuge Sausage, and Pitt County BBQ for hopping on to make magic with the munchables! We’ll Seeya next weekend on the Ave!

We’ve got a bit of late season patio weather on our hands and Big J is pouring fresh pints Put it in H Hefeweizen! 🍻

What country is this b**r from? It (Bavaria) technically no longer exists. It has many delicious flavours such as banana and cloves, which was the style at the time. Back then there used to be bees on the nickel, 5 bees to a quarter we’d say. Unfortunately the days of a b**r for a bee have passed us by, but you can still enjoy the subtle smooth tastes of spice and banana. Take it for a test drive and you will agree!

This one would pair well with some kind of Oktoberfest party 🤔🤔. Keep an eye out for more info on that Monday!

We are absolutely TICKLED to be hosting JUNO nominated songwriter/storyteller Corin Raymond with his ever-talented pal Noah Walker in the taproom September 27th!

If you are the type who finds themselves sitting around a campfire playing music ‘til the wee hours, chances are you’ve heard a few of his tunes through other folks, as they tend to have a knack for traveling that way.

Raymond’s songs are covered by Dustin Bentall, The Good Lovelies, The Strumbellas, The Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer, and a far flung community of roots musicians and enthusiasts. Raymond’s JUNO nominated album, Hobo Jungle Fever Dreams is “a hypnotic, literate collection of dark tall tales.... Romantic, immediate, and narcotic.” (Acoustic Guitar). Aside from the hilarious triumph of funding his previous project, double-album Paper Nickels, with Canadian Tire money, Raymond enjoys a second career performing his non-musical, one-man shows Bookworm (2011) and The Great Canadian Tire Money Caper (2014), which he has toured extensively to over a dozen Fringe and literary festivals, and to theatres in three countries. “Raymond has impeccable timing, and his performance is at once intimate, openhearted, and evangelical.” (The Georgia Straight on Bookworm) “Corin Raymond is a storyteller who by the end of the night you’ll have known your whole life.” (The Globe and Mail).
