As a poultry enthusiast, there’s always that one bird — the one that leaves a lasting mark on you.
We’ve talked before about our LF Cochin rooster, Charlie. He was special. But there were two others.
A Welsh Harlequin duckling named Stella, and a Serama rooster named Ozzy.
Ozzy was my little rock star — all that and a bag of Cheetos. Big personality in a tiny package.
Stella… I only had her for four days. But in those four days, she imprinted on us. And if you’ve ever had a duck imprint on you, you know how special that is. I’ve never had it happen since. I hope I do again someday — and that it lasts longer next time.
I recently enhanced a couple of photos of them in black and white using AI. Nothing changed — just cleaned up and sharpened a bit. They’re a simple but meaningful representation of two birds that meant more to us than most people would understand.
