We are very exciting to see this Byland Flash son go work in a great herd of Shorthorn cows. His dam has been a consistent producer for us, with one son at work in a commercial herd, and her latest Norsemen son looking very promising. She and her daughter Leonie 17L have both been rebred already for 2027. We are looking forward to seeing this guy's offspring!

We’ve had a bit of a rough go these last couple weeks here, having some issues with bulls. There’s a saying in the livestock industry that rings true as much as I dislike it, so I won’t be repeating it here.

What I will be saying, is how pleased I am to announce the newest addition to the herd and our Junior Herdsire!

Vanridge Nexus 52N! (Mom affectionately calls him Popcorn).

He is a moderate-framed, functional bull built for real-world performance. Structural correctness and sound conformation are key priorities in our herd sires, and this bull exemplifies both. He is smooth-made with expressive, well-distributed muscle in all the right places. He carries himself with depth of body and natural capacity, supporting efficiency and longevity in a working environment. His temperament is exactly what we strive for as well: quiet, manageable, and dependable.

My philosophy has always been “Where Purebred Meets Practical.” I firmly believe that the greatest success comes from selecting cattle from like-minded breeders who prioritize function, longevity, and real-world usability, raising their livestock under conditions similar to your own.

I am thrilled to co own this Byland Flash son in conjunction with my parents. A huge thank you to the Vandersluis family, Vanridge Cattle Co Inc for the opportunity on purchasing this fantastic yearling!

This weekend, the cows were split into 2 groups, one to get a round of AI, and the other to go in with this guy, Muridale Norsemen 25L. Norsemen calves are born quick & easy, with added thickness and hair.

It's getting serious at Rollin' Dell Ranch. Delaney picked up her 4-H Sheep project this week, along with a pen mate & things are moving along quickly. Tootsie (pen mate) is friendly and loving the attention. Tinkles (4-H project, bigger one in picture) is loving the corn snacks & some of the attention, but occasionally still stomps her foot at Delaney like an angry teenager.

Delaney has a busy weekend while at Winter Fair. Two of her cows calved while she was gone. Her Rosie 82G had a solid red Muridale Norsemen 25L bull calf (one of the very few solid red ones) & her Hatfield Van Regal 33L gave her a pretty Head For the Hills Law and Order heifer calf.

Delaney & Gerrin are settled in at Winter Fair. This is Gerrin's last year and he's showing G Tee Williw 91N, daughter of Muridale Willow 80F, who he won Reserve Champion Shorthorn with at this same show several years ago.
Delaney brought her steer Velvet Thundah (Vanridge Holly 46H x Hatfield Andrew 71H) and NVR Gillian LO 64N.
