How can you tell when ANY animal is enjoying attention?

When you stop, they try to get closer to you! This is Ghost (Fort Wood Ghost in the Shell) and she is one of our does who LOVES attention.

She will block your path to get scratches, and follow you around and actually lean into you to request more 💕

We clean our doe pen once a week, every single week, regardless of weather. It takes between 1-2 hours and it is my husband's LEAST favourite thing about keeping livestock.

However, once it is done for the week it's a great feeling!

We use a modified raised floor system that reduces our bedding consumption, but we still make some "nests" for them as they prefer to sleep on bedding when given the choice 😴

No power to a goat simply means you dont get grain until the sun comes up, because people wearing headlamps is the scariest part of a storm!

Just sharing from experience...
1. Set a calendar notice on your phone to begin thawing your turkey in advance of Thanksgiving - and
2. Set an alarm to take it out of the oven!!!
Happy Thanksgiving from Kopf Canyon Ranch!

This is the same system we use for our management. We keep the does / kids in their own stalls for 24-48 hours until we know they are bonded. Then we put them with other does / kids for about 4 weeks at which time we milk any does that are producing more than the kids can consume. After about 4 weeks, we release everyone into the main herd together. The does that need to be milked are used to the process by then, so it's easier to bring them out of the group to be milked when required :)

While Chyna was playing with a tree branch Paris thought it would be a good opportunity to get a free scratchin' 😊

Hopefully Calvin doesn't see this video, he has a potential new owner coming to see him this week 🤣
