Not bad for an unhandled yearling and a first time goat handler 💕

We went into the season to have fun, but we made sure to set our expectations low for the first year - so not only to move onto Pro Show but to place 1st in Junior Showmanship was amazing!

This 4H season renewed our interest as a purebred goat breeder, and I think we are starting to open people up to goats as a different dairy animal 😊

Great weather for 4H Pro Show!

We are on a waiting list for a 2027 buckling, after giving up our reservation this past spring. I think we might try AI in the meantime🤞 It only has a 50% success rate for people who know what they are doing, so we're aiming for more than 0% 😂

We had a nice surprise waiting for us down in the barn tonight 💕 A beautiful hand painted card featuring the barn (with Rose and some of the other goats looking out the window), an amazing metal cut sign and some adult bevvies from our 4H group 😀

Natalie and Caramel did us proud 💕

It's been a BUSY day, so it's nice to see the goats chewing some cud 💕

The 4-H kids got some ribbons today, and it looks like we are off to Pro Show in the fall!

1st place Dry Yearling and Junior Champion (Unrecorded Grade)! We were bumped to the unrecorded grade class because our CLRC registration wasn't fully completed in time, but we didn't even expect to place so this was an exciting surprise 🥰

How it felt walking down to the barn tonight to put the goats to bed.....
