We have been pretty quiet on her lately, but the weekly newsletter keeps you up to date on our activities for those that have signed up.

August has been quite the busy month, lots of work travel, a bit of camping, starting harvest and getting some chores around the yard done… most days.

Yesterday was an interesting one, started quite productively, but ended up getting muddy though… That's farming for you!

We have less than 1 month to go for our raffle draw, we still have individual tickets available for $20, but now we're adding another option of 8 for $100! Message us to get yours today. As always, you can reach out to us here, by email or check on our website for information at seedfamilyfarm.ca

Morning All. It may seem like we've been pretty quiet here lately, and that is true. But Jason has been working hard on his website and weekly newsletter the past few weeks, so if you're missing your weekly funny farm comments. Head on over to seedfamilyfarm.ca , check out what we have to offer, and sign up for our newsletter on the homepage.

What's new lately? Finally, it seems like there's been a week or two to catch our breath. It doesn't last long however, the start of the Winter wheat harvest this week means the rest isn't too far behind, quite a few work trips for the Seed clan in August. Plus, we will be going camping for the second time this summer!

All in all, we keep having to remind ourselves to enjoy those hot sunny days… we all know what starts happening by September!!

Hey all. Hope you're enjoying the rain we've been getting. I know we have, taking the time to get caught up on things around the yard. Checking some of our animals at the community pasture, and inspecting how the summer has been treating the quality of our own pastures.

We have a few days left for anyone interested in that free beef box. Just head on over to seedfamilyfarm.ca and add your name on our weekly newsletter. Issue 1 was sent out last sunday. Kind of a learning curve not realizing that if you send it from a personal email it 100% goes to everyone's spam folder… personally Jason just thinks it is a big conspiracy from Google to get you to pay their obscene monthly premiums for an official business account.

In other news, we have added more products to our mix and match boxes! Our halves and quarter customers have known for a while now they can get our beef put into their own premium jerky, pepperettes and seasoned burger patties. But now you can too! Look for the options at the bottom of all the different items!

We've been cooking something special up for you guys the past little while!

We're finally getting our own website! We should be able to keep you better informed on butcher/travel dates, enable online ordering and just keep up to date tabs on the shenanigans going on.

If you feel like that's something you'd be interested in checking out, pop on over at seedfamilyfarm.ca

We've even added a little giveaway! The first 100 people to sign up for our weekly newsletter will get a chance at winning one of our excellent Beef Boxes!

Another change we have added based on customer requests, we have done away with our funny named beef packages, and instead our implementing a build your own package. 2 different prices, all sorts of mix and match. Head on over to out website to build your own today!

Last but not least, i have to remind you, we are just starting out with this website design. If you come across any issues, problems or just things you would like to change or look odd, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

While moisture is one of the most important things in farming, there is such a thing as too much! While we needed a little soak, 2in overnight in one storm and another 2in this afternoon could’ve been spread out over the next month!

What's farming without a little griping about the weather!

Anyways, we're still selling $20 beef raffle tickets for half a cow(valued at over $3000!, 1/150 chance of winning)

Plus, there's 2 weeks left to get your order in on this month's custom beef cutting!

It was a bit too wet to spray anything earlier this week… so I thought it be a great idea to try and help the neighbor make dry hay instead. 😂😂😂

DID YOU KNOW!

Certain species of grasses lose most of their quality and palatability (how much the cows enjoy eating it) the longer we wait to harvest.

That is why, while not ideal, it is usually better when getting later in the season, even if it is calling for rain, to cut the hay and try and wrap it wet, (about 50% of weight just being water, for dry hay it's only 15%) than to wait while the grass keeps maturing to the point where it loses most of its' nutritional value.
