Food marketing works because shoppers fill in the blanks.
We see *free-run* and picture a hen outside.
We see *hormone-free chicken* and assume the package beside it must contain added hormones.
We see *grass-fed* and imagine cattle spending their entire lives grazing green pasture.
The words may be technically accurate, but the picture they create in your mind can be much bigger than the promise they actually make.
That doesn’t mean every label is meaningless. “Organic” is regulated, and “raised without antibiotics” must meet defined criteria. But no single phrase can tell you everything about how an animal was raised.
At 4th Line Cattle Co., we believe you deserve more than attractive packaging and carefully selected words.
Ask questions. Learn about the farm. Look beyond the front of the package.
Because the best way to understand your food isn’t to memorize every marketing claim.
It’s to know the people who raised it.
