Ewok is lovin’ this sweater weather!

Mathieu got home from work
just after lunch today
so we decided
to pop over to visit my parents
and took a stroll
at the nearby Bedford-Sackville Connector
to enjoy the beautiful day

Did you know
this 4 km well-groomed trail
gives access to walk
underneath the Highway 102?

Yes, this picturesque route is genius
giving pedestrians and cyclists a safe route
between the two communities
instead of having to try to navigate
the busy road!!

Special bonus
that it also crosses
the magnificent Sackville River
in three places
with charming footbridges

every time we come here
we all feel at peace
and smile with gratitude 💗💗💗

STANDING STRONG FOREVER ♥️

For many years
I worked long hours on Labour Day
and every holiday

Today we just got home
after spending many hours
having fun playing tennis

We were pleasantly surprised
to also be able to invite
to join our routine game
two of Isaiah’s friends
who happened to be
going by on their scooters

Ewok did another amazing job
being the ball boy
bringing them back to us
after every powerful swing
that sent them out of bounds

L’amour was a sweet cheerleader
watching intently from the sidelines

When we were finished
I picked my jacket and phone up
from the court
I hadn’t taken any pictures this time

Summer said to me
‘Look Mama,
I’ve been jumping so much playing tennis
I can fly!!!’
I took a quick click

On the way home
as Mathieu was driving
Summer said to me
to turn around and look at L’amour
falling asleep peacefully in her arms
I captured a second shot

I may not have photos
from every day together

but growing up with memories
of our family’s ordinary moments
smiling, laughing
learning, growing
enjoying life as a team

will always be our greatest blessings 💕

On this Labour Day let me tell you:

there is a version of yourself
five years from now
begging you to cherish
where you currently are
just a little bit more!

You work hard to give them everything
what they need most is you

healthy 💗 happy 💗 present

School is back in session
a lot of seasonal activities have closed

however
there is one local attraction
that is still open this time of year

it’s one of our favourite places to head to
after church on Sunday mornings

Wildwood Water Sports
located in front of the Fairbanks Centre
in Shubie Park
offers affordable canoe, kayak
and stand-up paddle board rentals
to explore the historic Shubenacadie Canal
and beautiful Lake Charles in Waverley
from 10 am - 6 pm
by appointment or just as a walk-up

We have enjoyed peaceful paddles
many times together in one canoe

Isaiah started
taking a kayak on his own last year

Last Sunday was the first time
Gabriel and Summer asked to try
a double kayak by themselves
they were stoked!!!

Mathieu and I praised Isaiah
Gabriel and Summer so much
telling them we are proud of them
they did amazing
beaming with bright smiles
the whole time!!

Dogs are also welcome
but we are kinda nervous
if our big fur baby Ewok
leaned too much to one side
we would tip over

maybe one day we’ll try it
they do keep life jackets on hand
for the whole family

The cost for a one hour rental is:
single kayak $25
double kayak $35
canoe $30
tax included

The staff are all extremely friendly
you can tell they love their job!

The equipment is all well maintained

The setting absolutely perfect!

The calm canal
is a beautiful experience for forest bathing
a place to chat with lots of ducks
to be relaxed
slowly paddling with no worries
about bumping anyone/anything
as there is lots of space to move with ease

Happiness is
more life
more love
more memories to cherish 💕💕💕
