🐔 3 Weeks Old and Growing Fast! 🐔
Our meat chickens are now 3 weeks old and thriving! Every day they're getting bigger, stronger, and more active. They enjoy fresh feed, clean water, and plenty of care to ensure they grow into healthy, high-quality birds.
Watching them grow is one of the most rewarding parts of homesteading. From tiny chicks to healthy meat birds, every stage takes dedication, hard work, and attention to detail.
At Sammy's Homestead, we're proud to raise our chickens naturally and with care, providing our customers with quality farm-raised poultry they can feel good about serving their families.

Building something bigger for Sammy’s Homestead 🐥🔨
The new meat bird coop is officially underway and we’re so excited to share the progress so far! This build has taken a lot of planning, reinforcing, leveling, framing, predator-proofing, and late nights — but seeing it finally come together makes it all worth it.
We wanted a space that’s safer, stronger, warmer, and more comfortable for our growing flock. From the deep litter foundation to reinforced walls and roof supports, every step is being built with our birds in mind.
There’s still lots to do: ✅ Roof installation
✅ Final reinforcements
✅ Hardware cloth finishing
✅ Interior setup
✅ Heat and brooder zones
But it’s already starting to feel like home for our newest little fluffballs 🐥❤️

Every morning starts the same way at Sammy’s Homestead — boots on, feed buckets filled, and straight out to the meat chickens before the rest of the world is even fully awake.
Fresh water gets changed, feeders are topped up, and of course the flock waits impatiently for their special treats. Watching them run over excitedly never gets old.
It’s not always easy work. Some mornings are cold, muddy, exhausting, and the chores feel never-ending. But caring for these birds properly means showing up every single day — three times a day — no matter what. Their brooder is cleaned every second day to keep them healthy, comfortable, and thriving.
Raising meat chickens takes time, effort, and dedication, but seeing healthy, happy birds growing the way nature intended makes every early morning and every chore completely worth it. ❤️🐓

🖼 Echo & Ember Collective + Mo Creates have us covered with art prints, photography and stickers. The Knotted Boutique, .cana.crochet and are bringing some lovely textile pieces including sewing and crochet. The Little Extras will have home decor items, handmade with wood.
