Today, I had to haul the pigs to the butcher by myself. I usually let Trevor haul them.

Hooking up the trailer, loading the pigs, and hauling the pigs doesn't intimidate me.
Backing up to the chute and unloading them doesn't scare me.

It's saying goodbye to the critters I have looked after every. Single. Day. For 5 months. That's what intimidates me. I try not to get attached, but it's inevitable, and it's the hard part about farming..

So excuse me while I sit in sadness and gratitude for the animals that allowed me to be their caretaker and in return they will feed my family. 💜
