Our 2025 Global Sustainability Report is here: https://www.mccain.com/sustainability-report-2025

This year’s report highlights the progress we’ve made across our sustainability pillars as we work to build a more resilient food system. 🌏

With several targets culminating in 2025, the report also outlines strengthened 2030 commitments, reinforcing McCain’s long-term, future-focused ambitions.

From advancing regenerative agriculture across our network of 4,400 farmers, to driving innovation in our operations and strengthening the communities where we live and work, the report reflects both the progress made and the challenges ahead—shaped by the collective efforts of our teams and partners.

It also marks an important milestone with the launch of our third Farm of the Future: a 202-hectare site in North Yorkshire, UK, on the same soils that have been home to McCain GB’s headquarters for more than 50 years.

🌱 Healthy soil is the foundation of resilient farms, thriving crops, and the future of French fries. 🍟

This , we’re reaffirming the importance of soil health as it underpins our commitment to . As part of our regen ag efforts, we’re focused on implementing practices that build healthier soils across our global potato acreage. 🥔

Get your hands dirty with Cameron Ogilvie from the Soil Health Institute as he shows the difference between conventionally and regeneratively farmed soils — and how McCain, together with research partners like the Soil Health Institute, is advancing soil health across our global growing regions.

🚜 Controlled Traffic Farming and specialized machinery that limit farm traffic from compacting and damaging the soil
🌾Cover crops to protect the soil, helping retain nutrients, improve water infiltration, and increase organic matter, while reducing the need for spring tilling
💧 Irrigation pond, designed to capture and store excess rainfall while also providing water for our livestock
🥔 Water-stress tolerant potato varieties, allowing us to maximize our water efficiency without risking the yield

At Farm of the Future Canada, our team and partners work year-round trialling regenerative agriculture practices that advance future-focused farming methods—growing the potatoes you love, to ensure fries for generations to come.

A big thank you to The New Farm Centre for hosting yesterday’s Regenerative Chef Symposium — an inspiring day of learning, collaboration, and connection. 🌱💛

Michelle Lynn D'Souza, Manager, Global Agriculture Research at McCain, spoke to chefs about how sourcing from farms practicing regenerative agriculture helps future-proof menus, protect the land that grows ingredients, and meet the expectations of the next generation of diners.

is central to our sustainability strategy. In partnership with our farmers, we developed a Regenerative Agriculture Framework to guide progress as we work toward implementing regenerative practices across 100% of the acres growing McCain potatoes by 2030. Since 2022, 71% of our global potato acreage has been “Onboarded” and 24% are “Engaged” on the Framework.

Days like these bring our ambition to life — spreading education, building awareness, and strengthening the movement toward resilient potato farming for the future. 🥔

We are proud of the progress being made in many areas of regenerative agriculture and know that collaboration is key to long-term success. We also know that the transition to regenerative farming cannot be the farmer’s own to bear.

At McCain, in addition to financial support packages, we have developed resources and training through our partnership with the Soil Health Institute in Canada and the United States that scales trials and learnings with our farmers as they journey towards future-focused farming methods. ⬇️

➡️ Meet Simon, a McCain farmer partner in France, who’s transforming the way he grows potatoes—one field at a time. 🥔

🚜 “We started farming potatoes the traditional way,” says Simon. “But now, we’re reducing how much we plough to protect and prepare the soil.”

🌱 The results? Improved soil resilience — so much so that none of Simon’s potato fields were ploughed come spring.

💛 Simon is one of many farmers embracing , a future-focused farming approach that aims to support soil health to secure the future potatoes for generations to come.

🌱🐛 Regenerative agriculture is key to our sustainability strategy worldwide.

More than 50% of our French farming partners are now using regenerative practices like cover cropping, reduced tillage, and smarter soil health strategies. Globally, 71% of our global potato acreage has been ‘Onboarded’ and 24% are ‘Engaged’ on our Regenerative Agriculture Framework.

And we’re just getting started. We’re working toward 100% implementation across all McCain potato farms by 2030.
