Along with other predators who live on our land, we have coyotes.

They have never bothered us, our chickens, our horses, our dogs, our cat.

Knock on wood!

They seem to know their boundaries.

They hunt the mice in the field.

They stay up at their den.

I am sometimes lucky enough to spy them sunning themselves in the warm winter sun.

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky to witness some other coyote behaviour.

We’ll have fluffy coyotes puppies bouncing around here in a bit!

The puppies sometimes need to be sat down and have the boundaries explained to them.

But they only need that conversation once.

They’re quick learners!

Chickens Keep On Clucking!

Snow is on the ground.

The wind is howling.

The gossip is still flying a mile a minute in the hen’s apartment and sunroom!

This is what winter chicken tendering really looks like.

It’s comfortable.

It’s natural.

It’s cuddly.

It’s a frosty one!

At first they were unsure of this.

Especially the old gals.

But now they have it!

Our Waterer Bucket invention SHOULD make it so I’m not carrying water so often to the coop this winter.

Here’s hoping!!!

Then again, it could freeze and not work.
