Growing food has always been about community. In modern day North America we often misremember growing vegetables as self-sufficiency, when in reality, it is, and has always been about community-sufficiency.

What does growing with others look like?

- Sharing tools, seeds, seedlings, even growing space
- Having equally excited folks to share ideas, troubleshoot problems, and encourage one another
- Shared labour! Big projects become small (and more fun) when you have a friend
- Being able to go away and have folks to keep your garden alive!
- Celebration! Don't tell me your garden is not 10 times more beautiful when you have others to delight in a shared meal made from your collective growing! No one will love your fresh lettuce head more than another grower.
- Skill sharing - from learning how to can tomatoes to building a bean trellis or calculating planting dates, a second brain is your best friend.
- Carpooling! Whether you're in Pender Harbour, Gibsons, or in between, driving to visit nurseries, Seedy Saturday, or a 'Plan Like a Farmer' course day - it's always better with company.
- It's just better! I'm tired of trying to do it all on my own - my body, brain, and spirit are just so much stronger and more joyful working with others!
