Fall work progress🍂 Bales are set out for bale grazing, posts and insulators are up on the swath grazing and bale grazing. 🐂 The wires will be strung out in the winter (otherwise the deer will knock them down many times before we need them)

Checking out the regrowth on some of the polycrop that was cut for hay. In some spots there's a lot more flax than we would like, but otherwise mainly oats and turnips (and some persistent alfalfa!)

The Treaty Land Sharing Network (TLSN) is looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual with a passion for land justice and Treaty relations to fill the position of ADMINISTRATOR. The selected candidate will work remotely alongside the Program Manager as one of a small team of two part-time staff who together drive the organization forward under the direction of TLSN’s volunteer Coordinating Committee. The Administrator plays a critical role in the behind-the-scenes operations of TLSN and serves as the primary point of contact for the network. This includes managing TLSN’s communications and outreach as well as day-to-day finances and record-keeping.

One of Mark's favourite things to make: our grassfed all beef breakfast sausage, cooked on the smoker. They thaw quickly so he can whip some up if he thinks I haven't added enough beef to a meal. 😁 Find them under sausages and processed items at boxhfarm.ca

Bulls pulled ✅ We had a long, slow walk home from the pasture with these guys so breeding season is officially over. 🐂We've found that with some creative temporary fencing we can funnel the bulls into a smaller corral when we move cattle in the morning. 🐂Sorting them off with the cows walking the same direction but on the other side of a fence keeps everybody pretty calm.
