Pete’s Pop is now available! Salted Caramel Root B**r is on tap, with more flavours on the way.
This locally crafted soda was created by Grain Bin Brewing Company as a nod to our building's rich history.
Back in the 1930s, a downtown livery stable was taken over by Pete Orchuk and his business partner to make regional sodas. While that original stable is long gone, Pete and his family continued growing their business right on this downtown land. Over the decades, the Orchuk family expanded the site, took on a Coca-Cola bottling contract, and built what became Northern Bottling.
One major milestone: Pete's son, an engineer by trade, was a true innovator. He disrupted an entire industry by setting up the machinery to manufacture the very first blow-molded plastic bottles in Canada, right here in downtown Grande Prairie. Innovation and ingenuity have always defined this community, and we are incredibly proud to have that piece of local history tied directly to our address.
Curious to see that history for yourself? Check out the murals in our Back Bar. Painted by iconic local artist Tim Heimdal, they were generously donated to The Blue Building Project by the Orchuk family.
Long before Grande Prairie was even incorporated as a city, 10014 102nd Street was a cornerstone of the downtown community. We are proud to carry on that legacy of ingenuity, local craft, and community gathering.
Come pull up a chair. Sip on a little piece of history while enjoying Grande Prairie's newest destination.
