There’s something extra special about a custom piece… especially when it’s made just for a very important *little* client 💛

This one was designed and 3D printed with a very specific purpose in mind — and I can promise you, it’s going to make a big difference for someone small but mighty.

Alright, I’m curious…
What do you think it’s for?
And who do you think it’s for? 👀

Drop your guesses below — I’ll share the full story soon!

I’ve been quiet because I’ve been working on something big.

Introducing…

🐴 EQUINE CROCS 🐴

• Breathable
• Easy on/off
• Available in 6 colours (yes, including camo)
• “Sport mode” for turnout

Perfect for horses that “just lost a shoe again” 🙃

Barn trials have been… mixed.

Happy April Fools 😄

But if your horse *is* losing shoes, we should probably talk.

Hello everyone! Work will be slower for me, for the time being unfortunately. I have had recent and random bouts of dangerously low blood sugar (so ive heard) and as of now being tested for various things and my appointments will get in the way of my work.

It seems to happen mostly when I exert myself hard dispite eating fairly healthy. Fasting tends to extend my time before it happens, we are not sure yet though.

Please be patient my friends! If it takes me two-three days to respond dont be afraid to bug me if I missed you!

I try my best to be transparent with you guys! I will be slower with bookings and more diligent of my health while working. I am normally patient with some of your ponies but working with some more difficult horses exhausts me quite quickly right now as ive been quite tired.

Like most farriers I am definitely work first body second, I am in it for the long haul for you folks so I have to unfortunately slow down abit. The pace of my work may or may not be affected depending on how it goes at the docs office.

The very last thing I want is to be someone else's problem if and when somthing happens again! I do hope you all understand that i am NOT stopping my work right now. I will continue as normal albeit just slower pace. 🤠

Spring is coming… and your barn aisle knows it.

If you’ve walked into the barn lately and come out looking like you wrestled a yak, congratulations — shedding season has officially arrived.

But shedding isn’t just about hair flying everywhere. It’s your first real look at what’s been hiding under that winter coat.

Here’s what smart horse owners are paying attention to right now:

• Topline changes
• Dandruff or dry skin
• Rain rot starting under thick hair
• Weight loss you couldn’t see before
• Hoof condition after a long winter cycle
• Old rub marks from blankets

Spring grooming is basically your horse’s annual inspection.

This is the time to:
✔ Book your farrier before everyone panics at once
✔ Check saddle fit (winter fluff lies)
✔ Start gradual conditioning — don’t go from pasture puff to weekend warrior
✔ Review nutrition as workload changes
✔ Deep clean tack and blankets

And let’s talk hooves for a second. Spring moisture + thaw cycles can soften feet fast. Chipping, flare, and stretched white line love this time of year. Staying on schedule matters more than ever right now.

Your horse is transitioning from survival mode to performance mode so let's help them do it right.

What’s your horse shedding like this year? Normal? Patchy? Coming out in handfuls?

Drop a photo below — let’s see who’s winning (or losing) shedding season.

Hello! This is Jake! So I have someone managing posts and outreach for this page. Alot of the posts you see are mostly satire with some truth to it. For more accurate information I strongly suggest you message me if you have any burning questions!

Most Lameness Starts in the Feet — Long Before You See a Limp.

If your horse is sore, I can almost guarantee the signs showed up before they went lame.

Here’s what I wish every owner watched for:
• Uneven hoof wear
• One heel growing faster than the other
• Toes dragging or scuffing
• A horse that stands parked out or never stands square
• Sudden sensitivity picking up feet

How often?
Every single day when you bring them in. Feet tell the story first.

What to do when something looks off:
Don’t wait for the next cycle.
Take photos. Take video.
Call early — small balance issues turn into big body problems fast.

Sound horses aren’t luck.

They’re managed.

If you trust your farrier, share this — because educated owners make better horses.

Low-key horse owner flex (the kind you don’t have to announce):

I don’t choose a farrier because they were available.
I choose one because they’re qualified, accountable, and backed by standards.

Here’s something a lot of people don’t realize 👇

When a farrier is certified / accredited or part of a professional association (like the OFA, IAPF), it usually means:

✔ Their skills were tested, not self-declared
✔ They’re expected to keep learning, not just repeat what worked 10 years ago
✔ They follow recognized standards, not guesswork
✔ They have a professional network (other farriers, vets, mentors) when things get complicated
✔ There’s accountability behind the work — not just “trust me”

No shade to anyone starting out — everyone learns somewhere.
But hoof care isn’t the place I roll the dice.
This is one of those quiet horse-owner green flags 🟢
You don’t brag about it…
your horse just moves better.

Save this.
Share it with a new horse owner.
Or the barn friend who’s finally ready to stop switching farriers every cycle.

During a conversation recently, someone recently said being a farrier isn’t a “real” career.

So let’s clear that up real quick. 👇
Here’s what a real career looks like to me:

I set my own hours
I set my own prices
When I’m not working, my time is mine
I pick my clients — and yes, I can fire clients
I meet new people and new horses every single day
I keep learning, upgrading, and sharpening my skills whenever I choose
AI can’t trim a foot, read a horse, or adjust on the fly — my job isn’t going anywhere
My body stays strong, active, and outdoors
I don’t sit behind a desk wondering where my life went
I get the freedom to spend time with my family, friends, and my own horse

Blue collar doesn’t mean small.
It means independent.
It means skilled.
It means earned.
So if this isn’t a “real” career…
I’ll happily keep doing my fake one — on my terms. 🐴🔥

PART 2 (because the comments told on everyone 😌)

Quick poll:
👍 I’ve said this
😂 I’ve definitely said this
🫣 Please stop watching me at the barn

More things I hear as a farrier during appointments:

“He respects you more than me.” (No, he fears the rasp.)
“Do you think he can sense my anxiety?” ( Who can't!)
“He’s barefoot because he’s NaTuRaL.”
“Sorry, the lead rope keeps slipping out of my hands” (Cause the horse is trying to lick the salt out of my butt crack, hold it tighter.)
“Is it bad if he only does this with me?” (always YES)
“I watched a TikTok that said—” (Here we go.)
“I didn’t want to bother you, so I waited.” (Please bother me.)
“Can you just double-check everything?” (that's double the cost)
“I swear he’s nicer when you’re here.”
“You’re really good with him.” (☺️)

And then the quiet follow-up, like it’s no big deal:

“So… how should I pay you?”

Ummmm, cash, EFT, whatever I can use to fill my gas tank is good.
